Following on the logical thought process from the other thread. Given bitcoin is a volatility play and not a store of wealth and as we saw the last two days falls on bad news. It must follow then that when putting invades next week and possibly China taking Taiwan? The is a great opertunity to sell short and buy long in the midst of the chaos? Just thinking out a trading plan with you all.

Ah OK so the way I read that for clarity is "currently it's not seen as a safe store like gold and is used for volatility" vs a store of wealth, I guess that also makes a lot of sense due to the volatility it isn't stable and as such can't be seen the same as gold for wealth storage purposes. That helps me actually and makes perfect sense actually. If my interpretation is wrong please correct me. Thanks MWhite.

Thanks for trying to have a proper discussion poor, I know I rib you and bitcoin a lot so I understand the scepticism of me asking a real question.

Let me try asking again though as you have answered something I didn't ask.

Gold has gone up which is well known to be a result of market uncertainty. The markets have sold off and I expected that bitcoin should have risen as it is supposed to be a safe haven in times of uncertainty.

The question isn't about value, fluctuations, scarcity, gold or the markets etc it is that one thing. Why isnt bitcoin going up in times of fear. To me it has broken one of its arguments that I always understood wss supposed to be the reason for buying it. Simply put. In the face of fear and turmoil bitcoin fell. I don't understand why.

Poor, can you explain why it isn't being bought like gold when every man and his dog touted it as digital gold and safe and it is being sold off. This is a serious question please don't belittle the question with comments like 'just fluctuations' as this is disguising the truth that it isn't being treated as digital gold. I really don't care either why you are invested or your price predictions. Simply why os Russia invading causing the exact opposite to what I and many others all believe should have happened in a crisis.

Hi poor. This is a genuine question not a dig of any kind. I really want to understand why it is selling down and bot going up. Bitcoin is supposed to be a safe place to hide in turmoil but it is selling off big with everything else. It is most certainly not fluctuations or any rise from now on I'll just say its just a fluctuation that has caused It to rise.

If nobody knows that is fine but it would appear that bitcoin really is genuinely a risky asset class from my view. I had contemplated buying some crypto for safety store but it is going the opposite direction to gold!
