Bought in.....got shares straight away.
My dear Mr Humdrum, in no way was my post a warning, just information that some investors may not have been aware of. As for a 'crooked game' I really don't think so, my take on it would be that this is still a good investment.
I think its as well to know that the Coveney family are a very well connected lot in Ireland. Patricks brother Simon is the Irish foreign minister currently involved in the E.U negotiations about the Irish border. The family itself are regarded as Irish 'old money' & have been tagged by the media 'The Kenedys of Cork', another brother Rory is a top exec of RTE Irish tv. As for the father Hugh Coveney.......DYOR!
Thanks for a great link MEPIGME, throws even more light on Tyson & their effect on GNC. With all thats been going on 'backstage' it just shows why GNC has a real fight on its hands stateside, also lets not forget our lads looseing Starbucks contract. My adversary 'Woolyback, for goodness sake read that article, though I see you finally accept the Jacksonville senario!
The mere mention of Tyson has woken you up Woolyback. For someone who is in complete denial about the company you seem to take a whole lot of notice of them. Of course they are a factor in the U.S food industry, a very big factor.
OHSEE, thanks for the link & the only way is up tho a previous poster did liken the U.S side of GNC as having 'stones in its shoe'. I am thankfully out of HUR/SOU & see great promise in BOOHOO. This share is good but needs time & less of the MM & of course my constant 'shorting' which is having a massive influence on GNC ( would'nt know where to start). Have a good wochenende.
'Wooly', explain why GNC, Peacocks or even H.C. Schau & Sons have changed this 'non-existent' plant from frozen to fresh foods. Also I would like to know why you cannot even bear to mention the brand name Tyson......do they owe you money?
I previously said 'i give up' as far as you are concerned but your ignorance is a bit of a 'red rag'. you have to look no further than the RNS dated 24/8/17 to see the Jacksonville connection that you refuse to accept exist. An apollogy would be good but not expected! Any further research......do it yourself & can the fatuous accusations.
Sorry to keep banging on about this but I am not saying pre Peacock buy-out GNC had any dealings with Tyson, but after they bought Peacock's, in the deal was the Jacksonville plant that supplied the frozen sarnys to Tyson. After a few months Tyson pulled the pin & said they woiuld produce said sarnys themselves. That was GNC's first big contract loss in the US & the reason the Jacksonville plant is being converted to fresh produce. This started the post placing slide from the 270p down to the240p region. Anyone who does not belive this turn of events DYOR.
Woolyback - This is ths state of play as I understand it, Peacock Foods supplied frozen breakfasts to Tyson Foods from the plant in Jacksonville. Tyson decided to do it themselves hence the loss of this part of the contract & the conversion of the plant to fresh food processing (do read the recent RNS). Tyson are a big player in the U.S. with 97 plants throughout the country. This is not a de-ramp, I am invested here & happy with the company but feel you dont fully understand what is happening at the moment, loss of contract + heavyweight 'shorting' = wobble!
