I wonder whether it's a problem with GGP, or a wider problem. The other mining companies I follow are all stagnating or declining on low volume. "Sell in May, and go away" seems to apply this year (though certainly not last).

One's supposed to buy back in September, if I remember rightly; and I don't expect much to happen before then (unless there's a good old-fashioned crash, which is by no means unlikely, given the property bubble in the US and the stretched valuations on Wall Street).

For those of us aged 65 and over, I fear the good luck of 2020 will not be repeated in our lifetime.

Just to say thank you for the five recommendations of my completely off-topic remarks on the spelling of Colombia (or Columbia, as the case may be). If OMI could produce some news, then we'd have something more substantial to discuss. As it is, I fear we may be lined up for many more weeks of discussing the finer points of language, history and politics in South America.

You were right to correct the spelling.

But it is possible to make a defence of "Columbia." The country was named after Christopher Columbus (English spelling), whose Italian name was Cristoforo Colombo. So "Columbia" is simply the English translation of "Colombia." And we do sometimes translate the names of countries; "Deutschland" into "Germany," for example.

Note also the District of Columbia in the United States, and British Columbia in Canada.

MEM makes an important point in para 3 of his post yesterday. But this raises the question, why does Brad not put out some provisional results, based on a pXRF scan? Thor have done exactly that this morning; accompanying the info with the warning that the figures will subsequently be corrected by lab analysis.

The sooner Agnico & Newmont take over the exploration the better; I find it difficult to believe that two such companies would allow results to be indefinitely delayed by Covid in Peru. They would fly the cores elsewhere.

I should correct, or at least modify, the last sentence of my post at 12.13. According to Reuters, covid infections are decreasing in Peru, and are now 32% of the peak reached in April. As below.

Very good to see someone of your knowledge and experience posting here. Most of us know nothing about geology and mining (particularly myself). I see from some of your past posts that you once had a less favourable view of our chairman, Mick Billing. But there's nothing wrong with changing one's mind, when the facts change.

I invested in the company soon after Nicole was appointed MD, and have no regrets at having done so (though perhaps those await me in the future).
