If the government wanted to use AffiDX, they could approve it this afternoon. If they saw Avacta had supply issues, they could dedicate the capacity they have built up to them. They haven’t. Why? Because there is no Avacta and UK government. It’s totally naive to think the government are waiting on HUA when they hold all the cards. AffiDX has failed Porton Down. Need I go on.
You really think the government are going to fail AffiDX consistently at Porton Down but approve it for home use because a Spanish hospital has signed a certificate? Unless this means a big order in Spain we’ve been had.
If you were Al, you’d be begging the government to let you have access to some of the capacity built up across UK diagnostics. It’s not about Avacta and partners being able to provide the demand from the government. The government hold all the cards and the fact that they haven’t aided Avacta’s path to said capacity, means they’re going to purchase Avacta’s supply from elsewhere? Never going to happen.
Where is the pressure coming from? The media, no. The opposition, no. The average Joe, doesn’t give two hoots. In a couple of weeks, Orient Gene will be rolled out to students in every classroom in the UK and we will still be questioning on this board if it’s us. EU orders and Medusa home use. Pin all hopes on these but not the ducking Uk government please.
