since 11 july when sp dropped to £2.60 with the bottle top saga there has been a steady rise topped up then but there must be something happening in the background to sustain this rise up to this level any one heard anything ?

just be gratefull for the peace & quiet on this board we dont need ramping overconfidence grand plans just a nice little or Big farm in deal , with the assets we have there is no need to rush at the first chocolate out of the tin that is offered
excellent well thought out article i agree entirely
A farm in deal is the obvious route the bod are looking for , But who knows what else is now on the agenda with the fields at Isobel & Elaine probably as big as sea lion , IMOP i think the downside is limited the sp has been hovering around the low 20,s for month,s before this latest update .

do not let yourself be brainwashed by conspiracy theorys, concentrate on makeing a profit History Desire Petroleum was founded in 1996 by Dr Colin Phipps, a former geologist for Royal Dutch Shell. The company is named after Desire, the ship, captained by John Davis, which discovered the Falkland Islands in 1592. In 1998 the company was floated on the Alternative Investment Market. Desire Petroleum were awarded licences for drilling in the Falklands in 1997, and test drilling was carried out in 1998. Oil was not found in commercial quantities, and the price of oil, until 2007-8 was not high enough to make it viable, and exploration companies left the area. A 3D seismic survey was acquired in 2004 which showed great oil potential.
Awax could well be right this is the answer to question i asked yesterday , the chairman wants farm in partners i have been in this share a long time and as the song goes whats another year( or two) Commenting on the CPR update, Stephen Phipps, Chairman of Desire, said: "We are delighted that our prospect inventory continues to strengthen and that some of the best remaining potential in the North Falkland Basin is within licence PL004 in which Desire has a strong equity position. The Elaine and Isobel prospects are very attractive drilling targets, particularly as the basin moves into a new phase of activity. The planned development of the Sea Lion discovery demonstrates the commerciality of major discoveries in the basin and we are optimistic that the Elaine and Isobel prospects can deliver significant value for our investors. As our prospect inventory matures, we will be seeking industry partners to participate in further exploration of our licences and the quality of prospects like Elaine and Isobel provides a strong platform for success."
des has a commercial 4% stake in sea lion , but it is quickley running out of exsisting funding it has no income , no drilling program , only a handfull of employees , it will find it extreamly difficult in these unsettled market conditions to raise new capital for further drilling or exploration wii it be taken over farmed out thats the question ?
i wouldn,t count on it if it,s another duster what will the share price be then ???????????
the hydrocarbon,s were residual and that the mobile fluid is water , quote from des 06/12/2010 no mention of it being muddy .
i hope the mineral water has ice with at that price , no chance!!!
patience is required bad day all round for falkland oilys especially bor
The Questor team from The Telegraph says that this week's profit warning from soft drinks group Britvic - associated with the recall of its Fruit Shoot products - has presented investors with a buying opportunity with the shares now standing close to its 230p flotation price in 2005. After this week's decline, the paper says that the prospective yield is a "very nice" 6.5%, rising to 6.8%. What's more, Questor spoke to the group's Chief Executive Paul Moody yesterday and he said that there was currently "no reason to believe the [dividend] will be cut". "Questor thinks that the shares are a 'buy' for recovery, although investors must prepare for a slight dividend shock. Once that uncertainty is out of the way, a rerating is likely."
just a little insight to problems last year with( pet - the price it pays for production of plastic bottles ) see link below ie they paid over the odds at a fixed price for supply of these plastic bottles , and it affected 2011 profits now we have problems with plastic tops affecting 2012 profits , now i am not saying the management team are incompetent but these problems should not happen , GLA with your investment . http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/8346125/Oil-price-spike-forces-Britvic-to-warn-on-profits.html
