5. Will a tower or a large ‘rig’ be constructed, or heavy machinery be used?
There will be no ‘rigs’ utilised for the purposes of the actual test or on site.

If you have ever seen ‘rigs’ and /or towers utilised, they are always temporary over short periods as compared to construction sites for example. Therefore, in the main, oil fields do not create an unusual or industrial visual presence during routine operations.

The largest piece of heavy machinery we will use (all temporary) is called a Coiled Tubing Unit. It is a very large spool of narrow tubing which is approximately 2 inches in diameter. A lifting crane will also be used to position the various equipment on site.

Suggest you study the literature for the CAMLift pumps. You can only suck so much. The rest is natural flow. The stroke and bore at the top are limited. The only things they change are stroke speed and stroke length. They are called "sucker" rods for a reason.

We don't know what pump it is. One of the pictures shown today was also shown at HH.

This is Balcombe and a 7 day test. Kitchen sink not required. It only took 2 weeks for 1st test at HH so what is your point? I would get better glasses.

The operator shall provide for approval a method for calculating the emissions from the flare as required by condition 3.5.8, and obtain the Environment Agency's written approval to the method.

The operator shall submit a report showing secondary containment systems have been installed to the standards detailed/referenced within CIRIA C736 (2014) where all polluting liquids and solids are being stored, treated and/or handled. This shall include, but is not limited to, the storage vessels, separator, bunds, loading and unloading areas, transfer pipework/pumps, temporary storage areas and liners underlying the site.

The operator shall submit a written ˜leak detection and repair plan", and associated procedures and shall obtain the Environment Agency's written approval to it. The operator shall submit a written plan for vapour recovery and shall obtain the Environment Agency's written approval to it. The plan must detail the installation and utilisation of a vapour recovery system during the loading and unloading of [road and/or rail] vehicles. The plan must contain dates for the implementation of the identified improvement measures.
The plan shall be implemented in accordance with the Environment Agency's written approval.

I doubt if it was for the site. It was probably for the road that goes through Balcombe site and the Balcombe Estate Sawmill Those photos were taken last month. Just goes to show the watchers are not showing us all they see I had already assumed.
A number of low loaders would have been needed if it was fencing for the site imo.

Fact of the matter is #UKOG #HORSEHILL is surrounded by pipelines. This is very good news for future production no matter how poster Ibug wants to put me down. Remember Ibug threatened to troll me to death on LSE when I was freeasabird. Fruit Loop!

Hardly surrounded. Not sure ESSO would put crude oil through a pipeline that is used for clean oil (petrol, dieso, heating oil) as Purfleet is a distribution centre.

When the tested HH the first time round they were limited to 2000 barrels. I suspect the same applies here. What they are trying to say imo is related to amount of water that may make up those 2000 barrels. Not something I would be worried about.

1.2 Subsequent to this, planning permission WSCC/005/14/BA was granted, allowing a temporary, six month planning permission to clean the existing borehole, carry out seven days of flow testing (pumping fluids from the well into tanks on the site, and flaring any gas), shutting-in the well for pressure monitoring for sixty days, after which the well would be sealed and secured and the site restored. The permission was unimplemented, so lapsed in May 2017.
1.3 The current application seeks to undertake the same works permitted in 2014, though a two year permission is sought. This is to allow time to analyse the results of the testing before deciding whether to abandon the well or to submit an application for commercial production.

Time Limitations
2. The Stage 1 Activities (mobilisation, flow-test, pressure monitoring) hereby approved shall be completed and cease within a period of six months from the date of commencement of development.
