This is going to take some patience - which is frustrating - and I agree that VTU is better managed. Nonetheless, on a 5 to 6 month view, the current share price is surely a bargain. 10% cheaper than the price when they announced a profit upgrade 7 weeks ago; trading on a circa 30% discount to the value of the property portfolio; cash generative and with cash in the bank; on a current year P/E of less than 4. IMO sub 60p is a great entry point.

Agree - share price has traded sideways for nearly 9 months now and CPO prices have increased 33%+ in that time. With cashew production due to start within the next 4 weeks as well this has surely (hopefully) got to break higher soon.

Interesting volume of buying over the last week or so. Planning news on The Island Quarter can’t be far off…

Yep, still cheap though. This share price implies the market expects zero or negative growth for VTU but the overall market is growing again after a tough 2017 which should help VTU. SMMT April regs up 10% (26% in retail) and May up 3% (10% in retail). As we know growth in retail regs is better than growth in fleet as retail is higher margin plus much more likely to take in a used swapper on retail to hopefully sell again...

Couple of decent buys over the last week - big news soon?

News would be good - has the cargo ship landed or not? To put it mildly, The way this company communicates with its shareholders isn�t the best!!

Yep, this has been a complete and consistent car crash since it floated as SPL 10 years ago!! Nonetheless, IF (and given the history it�s a big IF) they can announce they�ve actually landed some cargo over the next two weeks (I.e. they�re operating an actual port and not just a pipe dream!) then the share price is very likely to increase (whether it deserves too or not). Maybe worth a punt therefore at this price...

Agree - bargain at less than £1. Catalysts to improve the share price within the next two weeks should be confirmation of the sale of the Parts Division for £120m cash (due to complete by end October) and a positive Interim Management Statement (also due at the end of October). Marshalls (MMH) share price is up 7% today on a reassuring trading update and director buying.

You have to smile (ruefully!!) at the markets initial reaction to these great results. Hopefully sentiment will improve over the coming weeks. I particularly like the consistent strong cash flow generation and very experienced and capable management team here.

...IMO. Interims due 3 weeks today which are likely to be strong due to the benefit of the first full 6 months reporting of last years Benfield acquisition. Statements in recent Q1 trading update on strong net cash flows and reductions in borrowings are encouraging. Solid yield at this price.

Completely agree. Current SP is lower than it was prior to the purchase of Benfield last September despite the fact that, in the interim: (1) the new car market has continued to grow - figures just out show another 2.9% growth in January - strongest market for 11 years (2) a positive Q3 trading update at the end of October and (3) nearly £15m of reported asset sales since the end of December to help bolster the balance sheet. Should re-rate when results are released - due March 4th.

Agree - results in less than 2 weeks too. This price doesn't reflect the good progress this company's made over the last 12 months IMHO.

Buy now - hold for 2 years - double your money!

Positive Pre-Close Trading Update in the next few days should help the SP here??

Finally bought in here this morning after watching this share for 12 months. Lots to like at this price!
