The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
There is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" sports event. You employ Traders to make a profit and as Ladbrokes seem to have none then they will never succeed. The days of betting shops raking in the cash have gone as the powers that be at the firm have ignored their core product horseracing and have suffered because of it.The alleged "Bookmakers" that are making a go of it are those that convince the gullible to bet only with them via an app.In other words the punters that are not price sensitive. If Paddy Power can make it work (never knowingly above bottom price in an horse race) why cannot the Imaginary Sign.
This stock has only one way to go.There is no liquidity as any successful layers have gone elsewhere.Customer service is a joke and may as well be outsourced to India where at least they admit that they are clueless. The site could do with a complete revamp as to navigate it is akin to finding the mythical Northwest Passage.Once again if you pay the staff peanuts you will get monkeys. They are not "allowed" to bet so it would seem that they employ non-professionals that do not know the first thing about gambling and boy does it show......
As a successful punter of many years Betfair can become the only way to bet. However after being restricted to £1.20 win and banned from the previously legendary forum I would suggest that whoever is pulling the strings should be given the Red Card.
Not sure if you punters know what is going on with that firm. They employ half-wits to "trade" and are a shadow of what they used to be.The tales that I could tell.. Sell Sell and when you have sold sell again...
Not sure that the traders are up to it.Had a couple of winners and now can win the price of a round on the Wharf.Restricting winners can only be harmful and how can you grow the business if you are effectively ban anyone with a brain that will tell others.Sell the rancid firm as many more will move in.
This firm has been a sinking ship ever since the big layers of bets were effectively banned by taxing them to the hilt. The website is an absolute disgrace, indeed Captain Cook would need a year to navigate it.There is no liquidity and no reason to hold on to the shares.Betdaq liquidity is on the rise and I would estimate the shares are at least overvalued by 75%.....
Ladbrokes are the worst example of a Company in this sector that I can find. They have nothing but their name and that means nothing now. They rent their shops and are entirely relient on the poor, feckless and recently arrived to pump money into their FOBTS and that cannot last.As regards their website they have banned so many for winning and "not losing at the required rate" that there cannot be a punter out there without a negative experience. As for opening a PTP site - that is to you and me a Betfair cloned trading site, they have no chance.EVERY single person that would trade on such a site would be unable to get on as they have had multiple accounts closed.Let me say it .No-one is allowed to win with the " Imaginary Sign" Sell sell sell and when you have finished sell again...
