Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Yes, SMT is a behemoth now, you picked the right time to get in. All top ups now into PHI for pure value growth, some excellent holdings like Sea Ltd. I noticed more holdings now in some miners to pick up on Commodity and infustructure surges in the emerging markets.
I'll go for 295ish, if the dividend returns then 300 for sure. All things pointing upward, copper prices, EV demand, coal still required to fuel Green Tech and Infustructure projects. Hit the right cord with ESG and scalling back reliance on coal long term, investors will be happy.
Thought I'd give PHI a bump. I've been fortunate to have been in PHI, alongside SMT since the beginning, long wait but bearing fruit now. Excellently managed and some real gems in its holdings. With Emerging Markets being big this year, anyone for over 10 by December?
Yeah selling it
It's not bouncing on the rns at all.
Been looking to add some value from a UK side of things, found Costain. Happy with the fundamentals and upside, might take some time but at this price, happy to wait, way undervalued.
Absolutely agree, fortunate to have been in since the start and have accumulated through the duration. It's now compounding for me so I don't need to add to it. Best investment choice of my life and there have been ups and downs. Fully trust in the next 5 to 10 years for it to deliver again.
See that, looks promising. X6 10,000 buys.
Market volatility rules at the moment. However, if there is blood on the streets, buy!!
Sorry, I wasn't having a go, if it appeared that way.
I bought into SMT and PHI when they were first listed by Ballie Gifford. They have exploded in the last year and have been well worth wait. I suppose my point is the long term ethos of the managers, their conviction in their holdings fills me with confidence for the future.
For what it's worth I hold myself and trusts for kids, I haven't been tempted to take any profits yet!!
I think this will continue to grow steadily over the next 5 years. I'm sure the current rate, fuled by Tesla will taper out, however if you look at the current holdings and investigate the unlisted ones, its even more exciting.
Buyers should remember that it's not just tech that this fund investes in but industries that are going to benefit massively from the development of tech.
Tesla are announcing increased profits. For what it's worth I think this may have already been priced in today I could be wrong, this stock just keeps going up.
Interestingly I don't think it will slow down, the holdings are superb going forward and this is one for the long term. No doubt there will be bumps, but I've been in since the start and will continue to trust the plan
It is kind of quiet!!
Are you in here? What's your thoughts?
Got a small holding here, interested to hear people's thoughts and expectations?
Thanks for the clarification Billy, only found out the LNG angle for Glencore when I was looking at ways to get some exposure to LNG other than BP Shell etc... Guess it's covered.
Sorry link was removed!!
Acquisition of Ornsted's LNG business in December.
Worth mentioning that the price of LNG has doubled since the start of year. Glen seems to have been in on the curve....

SP expectation for me would be over 300 then heading towards 350 in the last quarter. With the all the macros and forecasts, this may be conservative.
Yes, I took note of the management change at the top prior to investing. Billy you appear to be a Glencore stalwart ) My entirely uneducated view is that , with the right direction and governance, they appear ideally placed to benefit from exponential growth we are going to have in EV and other techs and also fuelling the developing and developed economies with the old fossils, that will still be needed?
Agreed, big upside and bonus of dividend. I'm actually surprised given the EV market expecting huge growth how Glencore is valued compared to its peers, Rio, BHP etc.
Would appear to have tied in with key players like Tesla and is ramping up its production and supply of Cobalt, its a no brainer for me. Maybe reluctance by investors to let go of past reputations given the whole ESG theme.
