I never look at the spreads so don’t know. Spreads can widen or narrow if volumes are decreasing or increasing or for a whole load of other reasons - none of which matters to me unless I happen to be trying to buy or sell at the time as obviously whatever the reason a wide spread is not helpful at getting the price you want.

I’m much more interested in the company performance (actual and expected) which is by far the biggest driver of share price generally - rather than short term spreads or price movements.

Actually it does work exactly like that. Buying pressure pushes the sp up, selling pressure pushes it down. Only paranoid idiots trying to push conspiracy theories think otherwise.

PS if a short is closing that adds to the BUYING pressure - not the selling pressure.

Well, there’s one for a start as I haven’t claimed any of your numbers are incorrect (I have no idea as I haven’t checked any) or that anything that you have said is misleading. Strange - yes, irrelevant - certainly, misleading - perhaps.

Here’s a fact. Next mcap £15bn, Boo £0.3bn. My interpretation is that there are lots of significant differences between the two companies that explain this huge gap, some of which I’ve already mentioned - but please carry on trying to outline the similarities instead.

This is painful. So you’re really saying Next’s focus is being an online market place. Ask 100 people in the street what they are and they will likely say a clothes shop or something similar. Yes, they do lots online as most retailers do AND a fair chunk of that is marketplace but that is a world away from Debenhams.

So what? Is it their main focus? No. Is it deb’s main focus? Yes. There’s the difference (plus the high street presence, growing revenue, the (huge) profit etc. etc.) but you keep thinking they are comparable if it makes you happy.

If you’re suggesting debs and Next are directly comparable then I think that is nonsense.

Debs is an online only company only that is now heavily focused on the marketplace. Next is a high street retailer that also sells stuff on line (though now over 50%) but with less focus on marketplace.

So my point stands.

Like the confidence but not sure how you can be so certain about what is really the million dollar question. The market is clearly not as confident in the answer and personally I’d settle for any profit just now never mind ‘strong profits’.

With revenue still falling, costs/margins must improve fast enough to more than offset that impact. They haven’t so far and there is no guarantee that they will.

No doubt you can provide some irrefutable analysis correlating price and posts (bearing it is also often said on here that ‘negative posters’ go quiet when the price rises)?

On which note, just to confirm, you agree that there is no evidence in any RNS of any positive result for Method B (or any other Method come to that), just a lot of vague words and suggestions of ‘progress’ but no evidence at all let alone verifiable evidence?

Or are you going to write yet another rambling, long winded post to try to deflect?

Not to rain on your parade too much BUT:

1. Are these figures for just ‘apparel and fashion’ or the whole Debs marketplace so that you are not comparing like for like?

2. As it is a marketplace a lot less revenue will be generated per visit than companies like Next if the conversion rates are similar - maybe as low as 10% versus non-market place. In other words you would expect a relatively high number of visits for such a model compared to those less structured that way.

3. Unfortunately posters have banged on for years whenever these figures have looked good but they have proven hopelessly unreliable when it comes to being a forecaster of positive results.

So forgive me but I’ll wait for actual results for revenue and, more importantly, cash flow or profit before getting excited.

So what you’re saying JamboneMikey is that the RNS contain no proof that Method B works and improves bitcoin mining at all beyond a stated theoretical impact that has never been verified - whether that’s 10%, 30% or 160% or whatever.

The near 400p that Capita sits around now is after a recent 15 to 1 share consolidation so the price in 2021 terms is about 26p - so not a great example is it? Must try harder.
