You are correct John, the process from decision to drill to completion and production is incredibly quick in the US. Weeks/months whereas it's years in the UK. Delayed by planning, objections, activist challenges and appeals. And the most ridiculous aspect in the UK is when you have drilled a discovery, you then have to fight to produce from it which can take years to achieve🙄
