With Oil price likely to make a fresh high it will be hard to stop it. We could go to $$140-150 by summer. You will see panic an a self feeding loop. The Fed will just keep increasing interest rates but people will still fill their cars. We all have more money these days and access to credit. Most lucky people will still heat their homes but spare a thought for poor countries like Sri Lanka where unrest is already seen.

Most fund managers didnt want to invest in oil. Now watch them wanting a piece of the pie. Oil has not followed other commodities increases. Oil is still cheap in comparison.

Even a windfall tax on energy won't stop demand. Energy companies are already saying prices will go up further. The profits Union Jack will be making won't really be hurt by a one off tax...that's if it comes about. We want to encourage oil production, not stop investment an jobs.

At last policy makers are not just looking to please Greta an realising that yes we do need fossil fuels for many years to come.
