Egdon Resources is in discussions with the Broughton Community and Sports Association (BCSA) to run the Egdon Community Fund on behalf of the company and its partners in the Wressle site.
The Egdon Community Fund aims to pump material funding into local community initiatives whilst the nearby well site operates. The site is forecast to last for up to 15 years and this coming year will see around £100,000 committed to the fund.
As the administration of the fund is taking time to establish, Egdon has already started to support initiatives in the local area.
So far, the fund has supported (or is in the process of supporting) the following applications:
Broughton Scout Group for help with fire damage £3000
Broughton Community Runners for two run leader courses £380
Broughton Town Council for the purchase and installation of the Jubilee Beacon for £4308
Broughton pre-school for outdoor equipment and a new laptop £2000
Broughton Wombles for litter picking equipment £616
Ancholme Valley Park run for PA system, signs and shirts £260
Broughton Burn organisers for overhead costs £500
Going forward applicants will be invited to submit their grant form directly to BCSA who will operate the fund. There will be three funding ‘windows’ a year:
The windows will be:
1. 1st September 2022 to 31st December 2022
2. 1st January 2023 to 30th May 2023
3. 1st May 2023 to 31st August 2023.
This year, Egdon will make available around £30,000 for each window and hold a £10,000 discretionary pot for bids which might fall outside the funding criteria for the BCSA which can only donate to causes within Broughton and its parish.
Grant forms will be available by email at info@thisisbcsa.co.uk
