Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Warsila have been awarded a 5 year 'lifecycle agreement' to look after 4 offshore patrol vessels for the Irish naval service. The future does seem to be in long term maintenance contracts, it is a guaranteed income after all.
MayAnya - I'm sure shareholders won't want anymore 'derision'.
Nobby31 - No worry for the employees, they will keep their jobs, the shareholders are a different kettle of fish though, the company is imploding with debt that it cannot sustain. A new company will be formed wiping out existing shareholder value. Welcome to Harland & Wolff (Riverstone Ltd). I will add IMHO, this is not from a daily newspaper.
Kaeren - Re capital letters have disappeared, I have the same problem after a dram or two.
Bubble2021- Re number of typos, have you ever considered a weekly podcast? Save the trouble of a weeks daily typing & we can all tune in to listen to your HARL investment thoughts.
MayAnya - A daily poster on here is approaching ELEVEN THOUSAND POSTS & not one provides discussion or debate to the HARL forum. Maybe he is just a nodding donkey.
Findingtheta 10.15 - If you google definition of 'companies in distress' I think you will find HARL meets a large percentage of the criteria OR even google zombie companies.
IM will not be funded for gas storage, ESG criteria of the lending institution will apply.
Doubt many people offered jobs have asked to go through the company accounts before accepting a new role.
Stokey12 - The world is moving to net zero (albeit slowly) it is very doubtful the NI Executive will fund fossil fuel storage. If there is funding available it should be used for clean energy projects not storing gas in caverns. The UK Infrastructure Bank would not provide funding for IM, they support tackling climate change and also don't bail out companies in distress.
Xenor - Please cheer up, you remind me of the ditty 'Here I sit broken hearted spent a penny & only farted'.
Scaffman - Offer is March to November excluding bank holidays, gig weekend & school holidays.
BT - Have to show evidence of residency at check in. Usual day return is £35, it's about to get interesting.
Up here in the Western Isles residents have an annual quota of 3 free CalMac return ferry tickets (not including vehicle).
Anyone living in Cornwall can now book a return day trip to Isles of Scilly for £25 on the Scillionian III. HARL have yet to announce their fare structure, it was scheduled to be announced along with online booking in January. Has anyone had success in tracking the Austal boat?
Xenor - best post you have made this year 'share price hits a low it hasn't seen for months'. Could not have put it better myself! You need to be asking why the share price is on its knees, not berating me.
Lottie123 - Happy to help out bashing, to be honest JW & Arun will do a better job than me to achieve your request of 10p.
Chrisatrdg - Strange how you posted on 18th December 2023 that unless HARL announced a new finance deal within a few days, JW and his team will take a fall. Oh, and predicted a 20p share price, guess your abacus is missing a few beads.
LSEO3 - Pray tell what has my previous employer & hydrogen storage have to do with my post? I saw potential in Infrastrata and local jobs at Arnish, JW was canny in taking on the Harland & Wolff name, the rest of the journey is less salubrious.
I'm unable to find the rule on LSE that only current shareholders can post on the chat board, maybe you can post one of your many links to show me otherwise?
LSEO3 -JUST FOR YOU 'STRONG SELL'.
Stokey12 - Like you I only have access to the full accounts for 2022. The trading statement from 30th November 2023 was a profit warning in disguise, only a £20m shortfall from forecasts! I don't think your 30% uplift is anything near enough to be honest, the company payroll in 2022 was substantially less than the 1,000 employees now, inflation and wage rises for the last 18 months will have eroded the company balance sheet even more, lack of announced contracts, the 14 month wait for a new finance deal, the expense of taking on the ISSG spring to mind.
HARL finances are shot, a new finance deal just moves the debt to another provider. The share price may well do the usual 'spike' if a deal is ever announced, it will drift to sub 10p later this year.
MayAnya - Don't bank on any proceeds from IM going to HARL it's 'hocked' to Riverstone, pretty sure they would be calling in a down payment for the debt if a sale took place.
