Some people will have live Bloomberg, Fidessa, Reuters etc and see the closing auction the second it happens and even be able to put orders in at the auction price , hence why you see trades going through at the closing price after the auction

is there an internet cheap broker that can participate in the closing auction.

I have never understood why HL cant access it.

Is it because there is no profit for the market maker or HL?

nothing is simpler than entering a market order for the auction before 16:35 (or a limit one) and participating in the biggest print of the day

but we have moved up from £8.5 pretty quick based on this news i think

i see everyone thinks they will rise alot if they win the contract but if they dont how much do you think it will fall?

I would take some risk off the table and sell some. Don't get too greedy!!! obviously have no idea of your financial situation but to some that figure is lifechanging.
