Afternoon everyone, I've been invested in ECR since the Craig Brown days and unfortunately currently I have a very heavy loss in my investment here and it's a case of hold and see what happens. However recently with the new BOD things have started to look brighter.... just need the SP to start ticking up! Fingers crossed things start moving in a positive direction for ECR soon. Anyway the reason for posting today, I read an interesting article on Sky News, which I thought I'd post. The links below, take a read.

I didn't know China mines half the world's supply of antimony, and it is a key ingredient for military applications. I also didn't know China have put an export restriction on antimony, which came into force last month. With the demand on antimony to be high in near future, it'll be interesting to see how ECR progress the discovery of antimony at Bailieston. Time will tell I guess. Enjoy the article and GLA.

LW, things have changed at Katoro Gold and it's not the same company as it was when you invested in 2020 when Louise Coetzee was at the helm. I'm currently invested here and I'm happy to hold because I like what I see today. Things at the top have changed with Coetzee gone, Sean Wade (POW) the Chairman, Patrick Cullen the Interim CEO & Director and there's Gervaise Heddle (GGP fame) with 57 million shares that equates to a 3.57% stake in the company. Unlike the old BOD the new BOD have put together a strategy and plan that they're working towards delivering. The Haneti Project is interesting because it could deliver on a Nickle Sulphide project (not Nickle Laterite), which would be the holy grail and would see the SP multi bag in my opinion.

The company have recently published a couple of presentations on the website which gives an insight on what they're currently doing, however a business update in the form of a RNS would be my own preference for news flow. For those who haven't seen the presentations then the links are below....

Note in the Haneti Project presentation the following is stated as the "Next Steps":

- A Haneti technical committee undertaking a detailed review of the entirety of the historical project exploration data, project geology.

- The HTC includes team members from Katoro and Power Metal Resources, and external specialists with requisite project knowledge and expertise.

- The committee will formulate a concise and cost-effective exploration plan to move the project forward.

In my view this tells us Katoro & POW are looking to move the Haneti Project forward and are currently collating data and information to enable them to put a viable exploration plan together. In my opinion we can look forward to some exciting times ahead!

Like all investments it's a risk to put your money here but as investors on AIM we have to weigh up the Risk v Rewards and make our own decisions on whether to invest or not. In my case I've invested here and at this moment in time I'm happy to hold. However DYOR!!

My take on today’s RNS is that it feels like Sean Wade and the BOD have a plan and a strategy and now want to get things moving. It’s great to see words and phrases used in the RNS like “drive forward, advancement, rapidly advance, push a head at some pace, accelerate, advancing activities, plans for the business, and strategy to revitalise the Company”. It all suggest there’s a plan and we’ll soon start to see things moving. GLA

Well the KAT share price took a nosedive today on news of the proposed CEO, must admit I didn't see that coming! Personally I don't know anything about Patrick Cullen and what his background is. I can only go off todays RNS and from that I get the following facts.... Patrick Cullen has extensive geological, geophysical and mining experience; worked in junior resource exploration and major mining sectors; worked across a variety of commodities; worked across a variety of jurisdictions in North America and Europe; has extensive experience across Southern Africa where he was based for almost 20 years; he has director/board level experience in AIM listed junior explorers; and should he satisfy the new director due diligence and is appointed then he will receive share options as part of his appointment, at an exercise price of 0.2p with the amount and terms of the options to be confirmed. If we've been told the truth then he sounds like he has the right experience in the right sector and has worked in the right geographical region to manage KAT at this immediate moment in time, however I don't know how good or useless he has been in his previous posts.

The other thing I got from the RNS is the heading. The RNS heading reads....

"Proposed Director and Interim Chief Executive Officer Appointment".

From the heading my understanding would be that subject to new director due diligence completion, Patrick Cullen is to take a seat on the BOD and for the "interim" or in the short term he will take the post of CEO to manage KAT through the next phase. I may be reading it totally wrong but to me the RNS suggests Patrick Cullen is taking an "Interim CEO" post and not the post of a "Permanent CEO". Now it could be if Patrick Cullen does well in the role of Interim CEO, he will be appointed the Permanent CEO. Then again it could be the BOD already have someone in mind for the permanent post and for whatever reason they are unable to secure the appointment at this moment in time. I know it's all conjecture but I just think using the word "interim" has implications and suggests the role of a Permanent CEO hasn't been confirmed. It wouldn't surprise me if a Permanent CEO is announced later in the year. For now metaphorically speaking we'll just have to trust Patrick Cullen is capable of steering the ship without smacking into an iceberg! Today I finish with a loss in KAT but the real news will come on the Haneti Project and so I'm happy to hold as the project fundamentals haven't changed. GLA.

Well we finish on a blue day. Could do with some news though. Maybe we'll get some before the AGM on the 28th of this month or maybe everyone's waiting for Coetzee to go on 31/07/2024? Who knows? I'm just going to hold and wait as the fundamentals haven't changed and I'm still happy with my investment here. GLA

With less than 5 minutes of trading to go, we're second on the share risers list and up 36.84%. Should get other investors looking into KAT after today. Glad I got in very early on this one, could cash in over £1K profit today but I'm holding out for a better pay day! Looking forward to news on the appointment of a CEO, what's happening with the monies owed by LVG, update on where they are with migrating their systems out of Kibo, if they've identified any potential new opportunities, and news on Haneti. For me, Haneti being a Nickel Sulphide opportunity and not Nickel Laterite is the money maker! Our neighbours Lifezone Metals already are showing that their Kabanga Nickel Sulphide deposit is showing the potential of a Tier 1 deposit discovery, fingers crossed KAT also find the same. Christian Schaffalitzky (EUA fame) seemed excited by the previous historical explorations at Haneti. Then there's Gervais Heddle who has invested into KAT with 57 million shares and a 3% stake in KAT..... you have to ask why because he's no fool! What has GH seen that has made him invest heavily here? Also you've got Sean Wade & POW involved in KAT. With £825K in the bank and with the over due monies owed by LVG there's cash in the Bank and for projects to progress. This is going to fly!! Have a great weekend everyone and GLA.

Found this article dated March 2024. Good basic summary on KAT and although it's purely speculative, the writers thoughts on the strategy is interesting. Could explain Paul Johnson and Sean Wade's presence.

Over 5 million shares sold today? I've gone against the grain on todays trading trend and just topped up with another million. We should get a May Business Update in the next few working days, the last two were released on the 17th and 18th of the month and so maybe we'll get one tomorrow. GLA

I'm in too. I've been accumulating over the last few weeks after reading PP posts and doing my own research. Early days but this looks like a promising opportunity! Thanks for the tip PP and GLA.

I have an ISA account with ii and I've spoken to them today to check what I need to do if anything to ensure receipt of the special dividend payout from AMC. I've been reassured there's nothing I have to do, ii will deal with everything with the payment paid into my ii ISA account when they've had receipt of the money. I would urge all shareholders to contact their brokers and get confirmation! I have both verbal and written confirmation from ii and shall wait for the payment to land in my account! Here's the second paragraph of the email I received from ii "I am writing this message to confirm you do not need to do anything in relation to the recent news of a special dividend paid by AMUR MINERALS CORP ORD NPV, this has been taken care of by our team already and will be paid onto your account." Hope this is helpful.

Well done to all of us who voted NO and thanks once again to those who attended the GM and representing us who couldn't attend. For future reference it would be good to get a run down from one of the attendees on how the meeting was conducted.... was it a show of hands, or straight to a poll vote, was there a Q&A period, was RY present, who was the chair, was the TEO mentioned, any info would be great. Anyway it just goes to show how important it is to vote and get your vote in on time! Hopefully RY and the rest of the BOD get the message from the shareholders that we're not prepared to be shafted, we just want a fair deal and return for our investment.

I hope it 's not a show of hands. However if it is a show of hands and the Chair calls the vote in favour of the Yes votes then two or more of the No vote representatives should ask the question.... "if the show of hands reflects the number of votes in receipt?" The Chair should have this information. Also if the vote goes to Yes then the No campaign should simply "Demand a Poll" on the basis the share holders have not been given all the information, i.e. the TEO, to make a informed decision. My guess would be on a Poll the NO votes would win!

Thanks for the link. Reading the article it looks like it's going to be a show of hands! I'm only going by the section that reads "Where it has been decided before the meeting to conduct voting by a poll steps can be taken to ensure voting is carried out smoothly: 1. The notice of meeting: Should clearly set out that voting will be by poll and explain the reasons for this". Unless I've missed it, to my knowledge this hasn't been done.
I'm with MadMat and also think the voting power should be proportional to the number of shares you hold.
I have 1.1m shares and have voted NO through my broker. I'm unable to attend the meeting but as suggested by Rebel100 it might be a good idea for those attending to form an action group and demand a poll if the Chair doesn't call for one. According to the article.... If the Chair is aware that the show of hands doesn't reflect the votes registered then the Chair should demand a poll (however, let's face it this is AMC and so probably not going to be in favour of the PI). Section of the article worth noting....
"The chairman should demand a poll where voting on a show of hands is unclear or if he/she is aware that the outcome of the vote on a show of hands does not reflect the position of the proxy votes registered. The chairman should be provided with a draft script covering this eventuality should it arise.
If a poll is correctly requested by shareholders during the meeting the chairman is obliged to comply with the request. However, it is acceptable for the chairman to point out the number of proxy votes that he holds and ask whether they wish to withdraw their request. If the shareholders insist then the poll must proceed.
If a chairman improperly refuses to take a poll where it has been properly requested any resolution passed on a show of hands will be invalid and ineffective".

I'm a LTH (Pre Licence) and I read the posts on here but rarely post myself. Like most LTH I stand to loose a considerable sum of money. Having followed and read the posts on here for a number of years you get a sense of the posters who are credible and ones with a lot more knowledge worth listening to. TDT is a poster I tend to listen to and is absolutely right about the Crede deal and in my opinion TDT is also right in saying ".... PIs will be lucky to get anything from this if the yes camp prevails". My stance is a yes vote ends in no reward for the shareholders but funds the lifestyle & pensions for the BOD; a NO vote gives some "hope" of an improved offer and the potential of rewarding the shareholders, however there's the risk the RF will just take the asset and we the shareholders get nothing but at least we'll get the satisfaction the BOD also get nothing! Every shareholder needs to make their own decision and what's best for them and so I also respect CT and his views. GLA
