KAMEL whats your feeling regarding Jason Ader do you harbor any doubts on the motivation behind this activism? Somewhere in the back of my mind i just wonder is this an elaborate and destructive move. A small part of me is concerned that loading the board with his cronies,a move that could unleash a move for the worse. But in this case i feel is it stick with what we know which is down down down or risk a new paradigm with some element of risk but good upside. As for a good short term upside 110- 115 good entry point as the huge horizon of the world cup looms everyone has a flutter on it.
http://www.bwinparty.com/Investors/FinancialNews/2014/20140516%20Directorate%20Change.aspx this sums up the Bwin board. Wait until someone points out to them its unacceptable to let market share and revenue slide and slide. Only until a gun is pointed at their heads is some change introduced. Then the panic to replace some members of a lackadaisical BOD gets activated. I think they are running scared that change is going to be forced upon them on the 22nd May, if they don't act sooner. I say, too late roll the dice with Ader, it cant be worse....
Kamel17 i agree its a shocking attempt , especially as BWIN is all about the customer's web experience, its therefore a bit ironic they have put this out there, but its a start and the intent and the professional aspect is the purchase of over 60 million pounds worth of shares and Jason Ader's activist history. He's turned complacent companies around before. What i would say there are a lot of hacked off investors seeing the SP going down the toilet , me included, whose only response has been to moan on a BB so i for one, although its a bit lame, am happy something is being done about it.
http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140423-904501.html I've registered on WWW.SAVEBWINPARTY.COM and offered my backing with the sharesi hold, to aid in his efforts lets see how they respond. This is the most refreshing thing to have happened here in years. I'm afraid guys without this happening we would have seen a drip drip drip for years down the £1.00 level and below. Now we have a glimmer of a chance. David Moyes .....Norbert is there a synergy.
Absolutely brilliant a true rocket up the arse of our complacent Bod. I'm going to try and get voting rights on my own shares to vote this new nominations up. Tutttleburger has released promos on how focused strategy in 2014 will reap rewards, ring ring you don't get 10 years and. 20 chances in our current business environment.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/leisure/10771234/Bwin-activist-names-trio-of-board-representatives.html. for once in a long time I see change coming and for the better.
888's CEO Mattingley was particularly pleased with the 50 percent share 888 and Caesars have in New Jersey. However, he cited a report that said only about ten percent of New Jersey adults realized that Internet gambling was legal there, showing the industry could do more to help spread the word. “We need to make sure people know it is legal, safe and secure,” Mattingley said. “Maybe it’s something we have to look at as an industry and not just as individual brands."
Looks like this Jason Ader is not going to get fobbed off by the lame excuses we have heard for year after year, anyone got his home address i want to send him a case of whiskey.
All positive on their quarter after quarter of revenue increase, surely BPTY BOD must look over the fence and say lets just copy them with their strategy as its working. Its ultimate hubris to persist in a strategy when your competitors are showing you the way. Sorry for the wining on here i'm now getting p*ssed off on how long i've had cash stuck in this dog.
Ader It's like he has taken all our thoughts and placed them down on paper. Turtleburger is not long for the chop I think. If it came to a vote I'd request my shares certificates to be held by me so I could get my vote in . Pedestrian results compared to 888 but they advertise , 888 are on buses tv ads if you don't try to recruit you'll never get any increase in customers and then once you've got them weed out the non profitable ones. You can see they don't care it's business as usual keep taking the wage sod the SP.
Grey grey grey, you can live on flour and water every day but is it living? The results read like the minutes of an accountancy periodical....boring. We are in ONLINE GAMING, POKER BETTING FFS. The BOD feel like we are doing great trundling along taking huge bonuses but where is the innovation? why not look at other markets south America, Macau. Do something to get our blood going, Norbert book a month in RIo to see if you can enjoy life.I'm afraid we will have year upon year of SP 121 to 129 up down up down, Norbert has got to go i'm afraid he's just not innovative enough.
Our board have helped themselves to some huge bonuses whike the mcap has dropped 40% on their watch when are we going to stop rewarding mediocrity?
http://www.gamingintelligence.com/business/25267-bwin-party-signs-strategic-slot-partnership-with-williams-interactive?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily+News+Review+030414&utm_content=Daily+News+Review+030414+CID_5e212b2ffcf330d01e3254c7c44b91d2&utm_source=Email%20marketing%20software&utm_term=bwinparty%20signs%20strategic%20slot%20partnership%20with%20Williams%20Interactive I wonder when profit will start to flow from all these partnerships, Bwin have untold numbers of these partnerships but we are not seeing the figures to back up value, the sooner we bring in an activist director looking for value the better.
Janus Capital who have shown as much patients as a lot of us on this board have added considerably. plus there is other hefty share volume, suppose we'll have to wait for RNS.
This article was tweeted by jason Ader an hour ago: http://www.onlinepokerreport.com/10901/online-gambling-does-not-hurt-land-based-casino-revenue/ is he reviewing his stance on online gaming with regards affecting land based operations or playing a layered bluff? I think it would personally affect his honest and credibility if this proved an exotic ruse.
I hardly think Ader will sacrifice his reputation in Wall St for the sake of Sheldon. he'd need to be paid a hell of a lot to make him run any company he's invested in into the ground. I know these guys are motivated by money but ego comes into this as well turning SP around must be a buzz, especially when others have failed. So i think its utter tosh by a biased Calvin Ayre.
Nat0 great find.... perfect board this, on point all relevant and brings new angles to the table , keep up the good work . Its the only board i can ever be bothered to read most are like the school playground, infant level.
he also looks carefully at under performing sectors and companies, so no rushing in on a whim , he has cherry picked BWIN in a sector he had dismissed in his Bloomberg interview. not getting ahead of myself this guy seems the real deal for shareholders and obviously sees value here and in the 10's 0f % not just in pence.
the question is have they taken have they taken Ader on through necessity or do they realise they needed help on the SP front. Will the current board embrace needed change or fight it. I'm hoping the former, allowing a directors position without a fight indicates good things. Great find nat0......
