Agree Ivy..
Though It’s a gamble either way but after the last two RNSs seemed more than 50/50 and more hopes Motif will worth something far more than the current SP.
The positive points of the recent development...
1.Stepping down of the CEO to a far lesser role but still his continuing presence signals an RTO is happening as always with other RTOs when some bod stay to help facilitate the transactions with his existing knowledge over the years of Iclaprim developments.
2. Expanding role of Jonathan Gold is a very positive step too and his success to come out with positive outcomes is crucial to his reputation in the industry.
3. The new non executive director of Chris Wardhaugh is another signal of a transaction is taking place on a more serious footing..and imminent.
4. Lamellar successful involvement in Covid 19 treatment Complicated infection is good for Motif in particular with Chris Warhaugh is an interesting involvement.
5. The patients needs of a new Antibiotic and the increasing critics of the FDA process of antibiotics approval is encouraging noise for health care industry to take Iclaprim and provide more data for phase3 trial to get FDA approval rather than to spend more money and wasting many years for restarting again to the point where Iclaprim at now.
6. Iclaprim phase3 trial low number was problematic for the FDA and mainly was because one patient showed high Bilirubin level with Iclaprim, though it returned back to normal after stopping Iclaprim but nevertheless Bilirubin rise was not a welcome development as it’s reported also in some death with other different trials not related to Iclaprim. The FDA is right then to be more cautious before giving approval and asking for more datas.
QT issue was not an issue with Motif at all in their comparison with Vancomycin.
That issue was with Arpida and the FDA didn’t raise it with Motif this issue.
The May 2020 RNSs confirmed SEVERAL healthcare providers are in discussions with Motif for a RTO so we have between 3-4 who are interested to get their hands on Motif,Iclaprim.
The negative...
Since Feb 2019 the previous ceo GL kept on raising our hopes for over 9 months while he and his bod fleeced the company of its financial strength with over inflated salaries. So can we trust Motif RNSs again or just feeding us more misinformation and taking us to the cleaner!!
I myself like to think positive with the new developments..so I did buy a few more on Thursday close!
I think it’s foolish to recommend buying or selling this share at the moment as it’s still risky.
Always dyor before putting your cash and research deeply into Iclaprim history developments and FYI Iclaprim is an analogue to the currently used antibiotic oral Trimethoprim which is a very effective Antibiotic used orally to treat infections including HIV patients with Pneumonia..
GL on whatever you decide.
