W Resources Plc (AIM:WRES), the tungsten, copper and gold, exploration and development company with assets in Spain and Portugal, announces that it has commenced a Reverse Circulation ("RC") drilling campaign at its São Martinho gold project in Portugal.

The five week RC drilling programme includes 15 holes with approximately 2,000 metres of total drilling. The objective is to extend the resources outlined integrating the data from the 2016 diamond drilling results with the expansion expected with the present RC campaign. This will include the seven RC holes in the São Martinho West deposit and eight holes in São Martinho East deposit which requires further detail drilling.

Michael Masterman, Chairman of W Resources commented: "Hot on the heels of the completion of the Tarouca tungsten drilling programme we are pleased to have commenced RC drilling at the São Martinho gold deposit with the objective to substantially increase the size of the JORC gold resource."

In June 2016, Golder Associates carried out the mineral resource estimate and concluded that the total resource estimate is 3Mt at 1.04g/t gold, which equates to 111,987oz in contained gold.

Grant awarded
On 28 March 2018, W announced that its 100% owned Spanish subsidiary, Iberian Resources Spain SL (IRS) was awarded a grant of €5,322,970 by the Junta de Extremadura Government for the La Parrilla project. This formal award equates to 32% of the total €16.6m plant and facilities package that qualified
for grant contribution. W notes that this award is at the upper end of the range for such awards.
The grant proceeds will be paid to W through IRS upon the fulfilment of all conditions which include the
completion of the plant and facilities and also meeting targeted local employment levels. These conditions need to be fulfilled by 14 March 2020 and verified in an audit by the Junta de Extremadura Government. We are confident that W will comfortably fulfil the conditions outlined by the regional
government and the receipt of the grant funds will greatly enhance the economics of the La Parrilla project.

I agree Safety, but the money will not be paid until the European Union funding criteria iz met .. imho

It only refers the the contract being executed for sure Safety. Would like to speculate about the grant but feel sure this will be paid in late q3 now.. I’ve run out of confidence to make production guesses. I do think the sooner the better to stop any more diluting of my money ;-)

The Jig and Mill Plant will upgrade the La Parrilla ore, efficiently reject barren material, and prepare material for feed to the Concentrator Plant. W will feed 100% of the output of the Jig and Mill Plant once fully commissioned to the existing Concentrator Plant with upgraded and milled mine feed allowing a significant upgrade in production rates.

In parallel, the new large scale Concentrator Plant has advanced over the last three weeks with 90% of all structural steel and primary equipment now on-site and being installed (link to time lapse video - https://youtu.be/tAFIXGMv9Lg). The large Concentrator Plant is scheduled for construction completion this quarter.

The mine is primed for scale-up with preparatory grade control drilling completed and the ramp from the Fast Track Mine ("FTM") area to the Crusher Plant also completed. The first hard rock blasting of the 10m benches in the FTM area is also scheduled for this month. The mining contract will be executed this month and the mining fleet mobilisation is underway following the arrival of a Komatsu HD605 rigid truck.
