As you know jockey Robert Winston is a very good friend of mine and rode several winners for me as an apprentice and jockey when I had horses with Richard Fahey. Well Robert is leaving the UK and moving back to Ireland but is applying to take out his jockeys license to ride again in December 20. He’s very fit after suffering some awful injuries in his career and his mental health suffered. In the last year he has regained his fitness and in a much better place. He has been riding out some very good horses for Owen Burrows and at a lighter weight of 8st 12lb. So roll on December and we will hopefully see Robert in the saddle again a class Group1 jockey. Robert has said he will ride again in the UK as he has been promised a few rides by former owners. Wishing Robert all the best in his resumption of his career in Ireland.
