Not good news today that McCains horse RAISE A SPARK who ran a very poor race at Ayr on Wednesday is confirmed as having the virus. Luckily there was only 4 runners but he was in the course stables. Fingers crossed there’s no more outbreaks at other yards or we will not be seeing the Cheltenham!! Robert Winston is hoping to be fit to ride FLAMING SPEAR in the Lincoln he’s not in as much pain doing his physio so fingers crossed.

With UK racing cancelled until next Wednesday at the earliest after equine flu discovered at the yard of Donald McCain. This is very serious so close to the Cheltenham Festival. Several horses were going for their final trials this weekend so many trainers will be scratching their heads with all movement out or into yards is forbidden so planned recourse trials are banned. Let’s hope it can be contained to the McCain yard, but with runners at all 3 Uk meetings on Wednesday it’s a wait and see scenario.
