The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Hey Guys,
Chelsea, hope you're doing alright lately. Interesting about an ii selling the last few days. Btw, if you've managed to average down to 17, over the long term, you have done pretty well.
Ray, great idea regarding the virtual party! If you could perhaps lay on a few draught Guinness, that would be admirable. Just in case the news is not so good, I will contribute some anti depressants, in the event of some investors feeling disappointed. I didn't realise GM had over 6m. Wow, well done!
TF, good article referencing Lilly. I think it's all been said on here in anticipation of the CRUK event news, I don't know enough about our opposition personally, but I will not expect anything or take it for granted, and try to keep an open viewpoint.
Happy New Year, and my best wishes to all here.
Hi Chelsea, yep, all you have to do is take it easy and relax.
It's a great testament to the lth, in a time when some cynicism is around, that their loyalty and belief in product stays clear.
What, you mean the politicians? Lol.
And let's not think of Guy Fawkes and houses of parliament, in the present climate.
Sorry for delay in getting back. After closely watching the market on Monday and Tuesday, needed a break! Yes, it's the old story here, share buybacks or increase the dividend. They say in the October report and trading update, that the dividend will be held for next year, unless marked change in general conditions. A broad statement to cover the current brexit situation in the UK, I guess? Also, note the emphasis on putting shareholders first, as they are financially doing ok, but cannot do much in current situation, an interesting viewpoint, as another poster here remarked, what do you reckon?
Anyway, earlier in the week I was looking for a solid income stock, while prices were down. It was a close choice between AV. CRST, and BP. Although also SSE and BDEV were possible. Ended up buying a few more of AV.
The Dow didn't help much, this last week either, unless you're looking to buy!! Although in the UK, things could certainly fall further, at the moment who knows? Let's hope for the best, anyway. :-)
Hope you and the family in good health.
Light blue touch paper and retire immediately.
Bought in here on Nov. 28th at 141.7. I think medium term okay for builders....could we even get a net profit of sixpence?! :-)
Enjoy reading the comments on here, especially regarding Brexit. Umm, well most of the time, on that particular jamboree.
:)
So, here's hoping. Good to see C7 posting, with some excellent points. And a fine recent summing up from other lth amid the frustration between suffering from inertia on one side, and belief in the product on the other. Btw, I did state on here years ago that people are free to say what they wish, within obvious parameters. Ruck is a lth. He is supportive of Scancell He wishes them well. He has concerns about funding, etc. End of story. Incidentally, why have these people on the 'semi-private' bb chosen to use a similar title to SCLP? Seems unnecessary and could cause slight confusion.
Let's hope for a good week! Chance of adding to holding here at the present, and maybe a rise in sp later in the week.
:-)
Quite agree, generally. Very nearly bought into these on Friday. Slight concerns about an uncertainty over dividend cut, and the current market conditions mean that short term anything could happen here. But BoD seems competent, and the fundamentals are basically good. So this looks a good hold medium term.
boys, the Dow is dropping again. Lol. I can't figure which affects UK shares the most, that or 'Worries over Brexit.'
Didn't know you had an appointment today, assumed it was Monday. Hope things go as well as they can. Not much movement of the price here, nice to see such knowledgeable guys, and the enthusiasm.
Hope you're feeling a little better today.
Pity we are back to low volumes here, eh?
I expect it has been mentioned, although I couldn't see anything here, anyone catch the Radio Five item from a major research lab, in mid week? I didn't know of it myself, but apparently in Kings Cross/Euston area is a place with world wide experts involved in immunology and other work. Quite an in depth broadcast.
What for the sp this week, I wonder, lol.
Don't know if you're around Chelsea, best wishes for your visit today regarding your results.
Best regards to Rubal, and hope you're doing okay Chelsea.
Seems like the activity from last week continued into Monday's trades, probably a good thing. Once again, thanks to all who reported on the agm, especially Steve. This could be an interesting week, with now more eyes on Scancell, plus also the moving sp after a phase of stagnation.
Wonder if the recordings are secretly made, I like John Le Carre. Quite a high volume of trades yesterday. Because of the day prior to agm, maybe, I don't know?
Chelsea, gather you have an important medical appointment today? Wish you the best possible, and I will be thinking of you.
Hope to see you back posting tomorrow. Btw, this time last week, I think, early Tuesday, I left a longish posting for you, I guess you missed it, by chance.
Yes, I noticed the difference in volumes, to be expected sometimes. Although remember how around three years back it was more level and consistent here, often higher net volumes as well?
While it's quiet, thanks to you and TF for making the effort to look up Hanoi Rocks. :) Would be great to have them flown in from Finland for a Scancell celebration, or failing them, maybe the New York Dolls. Myself, I would perhaps prefer Des O'Connor, but don't want to seem selfish. :-)
Read about your appointment last Monday, hope it did not seem too traumatic. Gather you cannot attend the agm, but at least you will be kept up to date for the duration.
Hi man,
Thanks for your kind reply last week, sorry I haven't been on too much to be able to get back before.
Looked in yesterday, maybe you were taking it easy.
Bad week for the markets in general, lol. So....Buy, Buy, Buy. :-)
I' ve been looking to buy in the footsie 100, currently.
How are you, been able to get out much?
Despite various quips and remarks about my username :) I'm only about seventy miles from you, on the south coast. A very well known team who won today. Gateway to Europe and IOW, ha!! As I tried to explain before on here, Hanoi Rocks is a band. Some of you guys will know them.
Hope you're fighting fit.
Been meaning to mention for some while, I have an interesting true story to tell about Torquay FC, from way back. Next time I am here at a quiet time, I will send it.
Alright for you, rain here tomorrow (Saturday). :-)
Hey Chelsea,
Like you, I was up late last night, due to circumstances, and seemed to sleep most of today. SP disappointing at present, maybe a good time to add, it's quiet, with possible upcoming stuff, who knows? Good to see you posting of course. Hope that your health is reasonable recently.
Yes, looking good here. I was checking it out when it got as low as around 10 last week, but that was before the rns of the 22nd. Well done easy. on getting in, hope I don't miss the boat, lol. I was fortunate with IAE, bought Tuesday of last week for 48.87. I will enjoy reading back past posts here, friendly, helpful BB it seems to me. Merry Christmas to all on here, and GLA.
