🛳️Project Update🛳️
Our commercial contract to regenerate ex-HMS Quorn into front-line service for the Lithuanian Navy achieved another significant production project milestone in December 2023 with the successful and on-schedule installation of the vessel’s two replacement main propulsion diesel engines at our Appledore facility. The Lithuanian Navy operates two former RN Hunt-class MCMVs – M53 Skalvis (ex-HMS Cottesmore) and M54 Kuršis (ex-HMS Dulverton ) with ex-HMS Quorn (M55) remaining on target to join the Lithuanian MCMV Fleet in Summer 2024.

Uist hit again as two CalMac ferries are sidelined.
South Uist protests over services prompted a review over how CalMac acts during ferry breakdowns as it copes with an ageing fleet.
One South Uist public meeting attended by some 250 "unanimously" lodged a vote of no confidence in the ferry company angry at the island's treatment.
Maybe it'll be reflected in the sp one day lol..

“Large-scale hydrogen storage will enable the UK to make the most of excess renewable energy as it transitions to net zero.
“The existing power grid cannot always accept all of the electricity generated from wind farms during periods of surplus wind power generation. It is during these frequently occurring periods that wind farms are temporarily scaled back as there is no way to store the excess electricity produced. Production of large-scale hydrogen and its storage is the long-term solution to this.
“Excess wind generated power can be used to produce green hydrogen which can then be stored in salt caverns for future use during peak demand periods.”
In addition to enhancing the security and flexibility of the UK’s energy supplies and supporting the transition to a net zero, the Islandmagee gas storage project will create long-term and high value employment and support investment into Northern Ireland.
Just a thought, but all that captured carbon will be needing storage.
Just another thought, the 'puffin hugging brigade' brigade would be spitting feathers if IM was marketed to achieve zero carbon by storing carbon or even hydrogen instead of natural gas., then the nimbys would be holding back an environmental saviour..
