Reading BE Q4 update, How much Vanadium/electrolyte would be required for a 200MWh battery or batteries?
How much for 10 MWh for our mini grid. All the talk about FeV prices and I'm just thinking with current production levels will we have a high proportion going to batteries within SA anyway?

'The development of the process to convert Bushveld-mined vanadium into electrolyte and design the production facility advanced in Q4 2018. After promising pilot results at laboratory scale, Bushveld Energy procured two tons of vanadium for conversion into vanadium electrolyte. The scaled-up conversion process is currently being executed. If proven successful, samples from the produced electrolyte will be provided to battery companies for suitability assessment. There is significant expressed interest from VRFB manufacturers for vanadium electrolyte and appetite to add long duration energy storage to power systems and renewable energy projects in Africa overall. This suggests that there is sufficient market demand for vanadium electrolyte to support the installation of a 200MWh capacity facility in South Africa. The electrolyte production facility is being co-developed by Bushveld Energy and the IDC.'

Im quite relaxed. If the shorter can quickly reach their price target then they can clear off sooner.
My only regret was topping up at the wrong times and if we knew we had a shorter then we could have waited for the bottom

I'm breaking even Mark and could have doubled my money and sold at the high, which would have been more money than I ever had in my account.
Instead I'm still buying and keeping the faith. The share price does not factor in Vanchem so this should be complete July/August you'd hope. The JSE listing and accounts is other news so in a few months we should all know where we are heading and it all seems positive to me.
I suppose a JSE listing would easily swallow up those 6 million shares so I reckon the short will be gone way before then.
Also if Terry Perles is right then we would hit 50p again based on V prices rising back over towards recent highs and nothing else.

I am sure I heard on the podcast questions answered by Fortune that this percentage equates to 3% (@50%) of sales so therefore equivalent of 1.5% of the income at Vanchem.
If i'm not mistaken it is to do with processing the calcine produced during processing. I am sure somebody more scientific will correct me.

I assume the 5x50k trades is a shorting attempt?

Hopefully dual listing will reduce the chances of shorting as there are two markets to soak up the sells.

Imagine if BE decided to make their own mini-grids in partnership and sold the electricity to the grid rather than the battery. Would that make it more profitable if V price is low.

Maybe we are just an advisor regarding energy storage at this stage and awaiting regulatory approval before anything can be signed off or relevant. 4-6 months the chap says in the second article.

What is the price currently? How much would it cost to have a separate iron production facility on one of our mines?

Thanks Squirty for demonstrating about the upside after a shorting attack. That article helped get a grasp of shorting for an investing newbie like myself and why holding/adding is key.
