Yes Gerry it is a dangerous question I agree. The 20k is not needed for years to come..it's to fill the isa allowance...always invested in individual shares. With the age clock ticking away and your earning power depleted my risk appetite is changing..hence looking for some kind of safer if there is such a thing in this game..

I know that its off topic for L&G but been looking for a decent fund to invest 20k in??its a mine field out there but have looked at VWRL for growth VWRP and VHYL for dividends..Any recomendations would be appreciated.

KatieD if you have the money earmarked for something then your decision was the correct one. Often a gut feel is the correct one...good luck with all your investments

I think that the dividend cut was inevitable with the last few years the country has been through...the entry price to me seems a bargain. The buybacks are positive and if you are a long-term investor then I feel pretty happy where we are at the moment unless Iran invasion kicks it into the long grass..Good luck with your investments
