I take your point @ct10, I think this mainly highlights how people have a decreased activity level as they age. They may have worked on the frontline of a business for example, and then get into management which maybe less physically intensive and then you get the drop at 60 when people retire and become even less active. It's important to stay active and to do resistance training to ensure you try and keep as much of that muscle mass as possible in to later years, this in turn keeps your metabolism higher and in turn your appetite.
My post was not to rag on supplements I use them myself now and again but people reading Matt's post in isolation may conclude that protein is some kind of wonder macronutrient.
