Scottish power
Old ground but bare with me
Ref Sutherland wind farm operators paid £63million to turn off turbines in last 10 years (which were only contracted for 70%
production)
Discarded 8.7 terrawatt hrs electricity
Into terms
Enough electricity to supply 90% of scotlands households electricity for a year ....
More importantly if we are bothered about the environment that's 8.7 terrawatt of purchased electricity produced with fossil fuels instead of a green alternative
One day we will use wind, solar and hydro energy into batteries and fossil will be the back up,
We're back to front currently ??
BOOOOM
Lithium batteries
cost, life span, insurance let's not talk about decommission costs. (Pure waste product)
Flow batteries
Cost, life span, insurance and decommissioning costs (still a sellable product)
It ain't rocket science
