I don’t disbelieve the quote. In my memory of trading through IG I thought they were CFD’s or spread betting. I’m probably wrong as it was 10+ years ago.

Both those don’t actually hold shares in the company unless IG cover the bet with shares in the background.

Spreadbetting companies often trade in the other direction as your large trade to offset the risk 🙄

That’s not physical stock though is it?

It’s 10 yrs since I had an IG account but things might have changed of course.
