Morning VF. A little bit surprised at that comment. I actually, without being patronising, tried to let MachoMan down gently as he was obviously sincere in his efforts to put a value on 77h. I was trying to stick to my resolution not to be scathing about other people's posts and hoping someone else would comment.
Surely, no one can dispute that if 77h could produce an income of $36 million a year it would never have shut down. Even though it cost a fortune to drill, gspc would have been delighted as it would have paid for itself in less than a year and the cash would have funded further drills, a good few years ago, which presumably would also have done well.
As you may remember, I have a background in science, but I know nothing about flow rates etc. So, no I can't give my own analysis. However in light of the above logic, I really don't need too. However, Machoman's figures don't even appear to relate to the table he provided. For example, he talks of a 10mm choke, but the table gives chokes in 64th's of an inch. Not sure where the 2000 psi comes from. No idea if it's right. Maybe just a typical pressure from a successful well. A few days again Span posted a detailed analysis of what we could expect from 77h. He seems very up to speed with the figures and has no axe to grind. Even if we doubled that, we are nowhere near 36m. As
I said the other day, they must hope its going to contribute a profit towards overheads, otherwise they wouldn't bother. So that's good.
Didn't really want to get into too much critical detail, but you did ask. Atb. Gla.
