Eps rising from 40p to 44p looks rather rosy espevially in comparison to a drop from 30p to 22p of another financial company.
Struggling dividend coverage is always a warrning sign although Im sure it will improve for lgen.

I would argue on your point of more focussed and successful management team, lgen adjusted eps - 26% m&g adjusted eps +10%.

I like both shares and the way the boards prioritise and respect their shareholders in a realistic way.
I just feel that on an eps of 44p m&g should realistically be valued at between 440 to 520p,if lgen is on a pe of 12 or 13 then its fully valued at present.

The only takeover I would be interested in would be buying up Saga.

M&g is my biggest holding same amount of dividend as lgen but just 223p in price, I got in at just below 200p.
Both great companies both for income and how they have treated their investors.

Theres only 2 companies I would touch lgen at 6% roughly and m&g at 8%.
Comments on here about badly run companies being run for the benefit of directors rather than investors has proven so true in 2020,actions speak louder than words and tbe above two have stayed loyal to the shareholder.
Too many companies have happily bowed to the PRA even when making record profits eg aviva.
Income investors have a right to be feeling let down.

Wake up smell the coffee M&G 210p a share and 18pence dividend.

Realistic take over price would be 350p imo,its currently way under valued in comparison to other financial shares.

I would be more than happy with 9% long term on 18p dividend for me its the top income choice with lgen second pick.
