The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
What does everyone make of this line?
This announcement has been made by Velocys without the consent of the Consortium.
Is this something mundane or is it that this is a way of putting ourselves up for sale to generate other bidders?
A third of what the value is now.
Who cares if its not underpinned by real news? Like the Grand Old Juke of York, it will go up and and come back down again.
Makes sense guys. I also am not a believer in big “leaks” as a reason for rises. Thanks for the info about the volume and what this translates into. Pleasingly, I take comfort from the fact if there is big news, this could fly very quickly.
I do believe in SAF, it is inevitable. The issue is that the environmental message is topic of the day in fits and starts, and it certainly isn’t a hot topic given the economic backdrop. The problem is that VLS might not be around next time it becomes one.
We’re running out of time, runway, credibility and finance options.
Apart from the well covered leadership failings, the company did not make hay when credit was cheap and seemed to pursue a business plan which mirrored the pace of government support which as we know is unpredictable, slow and bumpy. Maybe they had no choice but it seems very backfoot thinking.
As a beleaguered shareholder with a 7 average it’s difficult to get excited about what is probably a dead cat bounce. I’m not selling only for the point that what’s left it immaterial and if a miracle happens I don’t want to be out of it. Does anyone thinks todays price action is significant other than for those making a fast 20/30 percent trade?
Very slow progress. Apart from spending loads of money what have they achieved since the summer presentation debacle?
For sure, I am by no means advocating FreeTrade as the best broker. I need to get myself sorted and move to something else.
Finally got paid yesterday after complaining! Freetrade suck!
I’ll let you know when I get mine
Its weird, normally they are good with US stocks but UK ones are slow. They do say up to 5 working days so I suppose I have to give them until friday to shout my mouth off. Get what you pay for i suppose.
Anyone else not had their dividend yet? I’m with Freetrade. They pay US divs quickly so suspect it is a matter of time.
This is the most frustrating share i've ever owned. I go back to their slide from the recent presentation on OBJECTIVES.
In NEAR TERM we have:
- Initial cash generation from technology license fees
- Expansion of commercial and business development function
- Build strategic and financial partner network through introduction of new investors into UK and US reference projects and new offtake agreements
Why do I get the feeling they will do none of this by year end?
Where’s everyone gone? The share is holding up quite well given the big sell-off. Any predictions on what the next 6 months will bring?
Thanks Callerone, a good watch. Link is here if people want it.

My only quip with his analysis is I don’t think the market will put 15x valuation on this company again unless rates go back to incredibly low levels again.
Not that that matters, even if you replace it with a 8x, that’s still well over 100% upside on his bear case analysis which will do for me.
£14k @0.91 average so down about 2.5k.
Happy to hold and top up if it’s gets to silly street.
Thanks MoneyMule. This isn’t meant as an Inflammatory question but then how can we argue this market cap is cheap? What’s the bull case for this improving next year?
What do you think full year EBITDA will be? £200-£215m profit is operating profit before taxes, interest and depreciation.
The reason I ask is it will be interesting to see what our end of year P/E will be. Say it’s £100m, we have a P/E of less than 5, edging fast down to 4!
So what? If you’ve invested the right amount and are thinking long term, daily movements are irrelevant.
This is an income investor’s share. If you are unable to think long term, are not here for the dividend or feel every movement of a share price, expect big moves in short time frames, this is not for you.
Can someone please point out to me a long term fundamental issue with profit generation of this business? If not, ignore the noise and hold for gold.
