Company bosses have warned the Chancellor to avoid a repeat of last year’s autumn Budget, which hiked taxes by £40bn.

You are wrong on a couple of points. Inflation was 2% at the time of the election. It is now 3.8% and forecast to rise further. Growth is lower than it was at the time of the election and there have been months of contraction under Labour. Fact.
