It's unbelievable that the engineers are profitable and O'Shea is trying to destroy them and the Union. Good luck GMB and all those whose lives are being destroyed while O'Shea will along with his other cronies will earn a fortune.
The staff have done everything they have been asked to do for the past 15 years so dont spout crap. We were told Hive was the saviour and i along with others embraced it. It lost 50 million apparently. As for the unions they have sat down with management and over the years have restructured as per what the management wanted. these top managers have destroyed the company and now passing the blame on to the staff. Each one walked away with massive pay packets and straight into other jobs. Jansen is now trying to destroy BT.
All engineers are home based you haven't got a clue .
jedclampit you really are vile.
Its the engineers who are on strike and that side of the business is in profit, people will and do pay a premium for what is a great service until the unrest. They dont have enough engineers as it is to do the work and cant get enough contractors to do the other work because of the scrutiny and what they are paying the contractors.
I must admit that its turned horrible on here . I always enjoy reading your views. Keep going and just block these vile people.
Its office staff who have signed as they have a better deal There are very few engineers who have signed
I would presume Oshea is withdrawing the threat to fire them. The engineers are standing solid together.
Also they have to work another 150 hours per year with no extra pay for it.
Thankfully i left a few years ago because of the bullying that was going on then. The engineers are on 36k and remember every job they go to if they make a mistake can be done for manslaughter. Quite a bit of the salary has been attacked and is non pesionable. They want to extend the day from 8 am to 11pm with no enhanced payments, normally a call out system is from 8pm. They want them to travel to jobs and from jobs in their own time which to be honest wasnt a problem years ago as local dispatchers new the patch and kept you pretty local. Now you can be 40 miles away and all the travelling inday stops you being productive. They are cutting job times, a inset gas fire would take 90 minutes to service. They get 60 including travelling time. There is no such thing as lunch allowance. Saturdays and sundays are normal pay but a one off payment of roughly £30. You cant use vans for private use , you will be sacked if you do. Honestly it was a great place to work but the constant pressure is unreal. There is a report about a report about a report about what you have done , parts ordered what you have sold etc. Over the past 15 years the management brought in different things saying this will save the company and the engineers agreed to them all. I hope this shows you a little bit whats going on. I hope it all gets sorted . I must stress though cutting job times is a safety issue and we dont want customers injured and engineers prosecuted.
90 percent havent signed, thats office staff who have a better deal but Oshea has linked new deal all in one. Yet again people dont know the facts.
What a vile person you are and obviously you dont know the engineers are in the profitable side of the business. Customers pay a premium for British gas engineers , they dont want contractors turning up. Sounds like you would fit in with the bullying management structure there.
I was an engineer and have lost nearly £100000 through sharesaves and 6k a year on dividends. Its a disgrace how they are being treated . Its the **** management over years not the engineers. So dont be AMAZED , the engineers have worked all year in covid houses. You havent got a bloody clue.
Disgusting behaviour by O'Shea . The bullying is rife throughout the company.
I think if was bad news they would say to scare the engineers. More than likely doing well but wont say until strike threat is sorted.
They told me to buy them and retire on the dividends. Not a clue what they are on about.
The engineers have been stitched up big time with the new contract. In the past 10 years they have accepted everything that's been thrown at them by poor management.
It's time this management understand what life is like on the road as an engineer.
Good luck lads.
Down 9 percent
Devastated theres my retirement holidays gone. worked bloody hard for 38 years with them and all the share saves taken out. This bloke has ruined my retirement while he has got richer.
I'm in a similar boat and rely on the dividend in my retirement. Since retiring gone from over £6000 to £4000 now no doubt to £2000 a year soon. All the engineers saying it's in tormoil. value gone from £140000 to 35000 could bloody cry . Just have to hold and pray.
