Africa Oil Week continues and yesterday was a busy day for exploration and Independent Oil Companies in particular as upstream outlook day in Africa was in focus. Cairn, Savannah and Sound Energy were featured in the Plenary sessions whilst at the Prospect Forum it was wall to wall independents with presentations from Tullow, Genel, Impact, Tower Resources, Elephant Oil, Invictus (where I met MD Scott Macmillan later) and even Brian Mitchener rushing back from his Plenary speech to talk Tendrara here.

"Today Tullow are back as the grand fromages take to the stage with Vitol, Equinor, Exxon, Kosmos and Shell amongst others in the Plenary where later there is a focus on gas and I shall see Jay Bhattacherjee of Aminex on the African Gas Sales Equation and Ophir join the discussions."

which is why I believe no licence within target until farm out and therefore development funding has been secured...which puts it beyond the EGM date...

Good to see honest white knuckle hard headed debate on here for once...I call it a draw as there are positives and negatives which ever way one sees it

Can't the cash for Nyuni can come out of he dosh the zubairs are handing out (subject to the F/O)...?

If the KN prob can be sorted out (250k max I understand from an interview) then there should be enough to keep going forward...one thing I am peeved about is the 'very last minute' nature of all this...taking everything right up to the wire...which is why I don't feel we going to get any news on Monday...but later on next or following week...which is why I have a limit buy order in case it drops to 1.5....because of ' no news'...I would of course like to see something on 'boom boom Monday'....but.....

having said that, if F/O goes ahead..and licences granted...what's to stop other parties having a go after that?....they would have the assurance of a deep pocket operator putting cash on the line committed to exploit the resources with from what I see with no further dilution or fund raising.....and the backing of the TZ government by way of the granted licences..making the whole scene a firmer base to get into...this could get very interesting indeed...we just gotta wait (again)

I doubt EGM vote would be against F/O - can't see Madjedie voting against or the BOD...

But if it does...it depends on how keen the Zubairs are on the AEX assets..at the current price, it would be cheap and wouldn't take much for them to launch a full T/O - may that not trigger other interested parties bidding esp as AEX state the CPR will be updated along with the circular?
