Cobalt rich batteries gave Tesla a huge scare (re fire related safety as well as price) so a higher concentration of Ni was needed to create stability,solve the problem and maintain and increase range. LFP removes the cobalt dependency (many other metals are used) but "overcharge"which results in the same thermal problems cobalt faced is an issue, and the range limitations mean it will not be suitable for the US or European main markets. What a good time for Tesla to tie up Ni deals when they have created a distraction,just before his own battery symposium .He may be weird,but that Musk guy is no mug.

I think there is absolutely no chance of him selling his entire holding.If he did that he would be admitting he got the prospects of the company completely totally wrong.He has had a look at other options and decided to invest some profits and spread risk,whilst at the same time lowering his profile here,so he is less conspicuous on future developments.Makes good sense to me.

Several reports in recent news of car manufacturers (jaguar,Merc) halving and stopping production of EVs because of a lack of available batteries. I look forward to the first report of "Battery manufactures slowing production (or increasing prices) due to a lack of necessary minerals". It will happen.

On the flip side ,if/when we see JM has awarded himself and the board a decent amount of options,we will know exactly what is about to happen.

Hi Dubs,regards your comment on sell limits, you may have heard my thoughts before that I believe setting buy and sell limits on AIM is an invitation to MMs to either drop of lift the price artificially to suit their own needs to the detriment of pi's .I know not everyone has the time to monitor their shares but AIM is risky enough without tying one hand behind your back.And with regards to top slicing etc/taking profits--I'm with Warren Buffet GLA

if the profits are anything like what is predicted here,I don't think we PI's will see the long term benefits as it will get taken out,but we then will obviously see a decent gain-but then, weirder things have happened !

So now Mitsubishi X2 Mitsui x1 and Sumitomo x1 have all taken stakes in Chilean copper mines to give themselves guaranteed future supply.Absolutely amazing what a sensible tax regime can create,whilst still holding a decent % for the host country. The Zam govt.will be kicking themselves. And furthermore Japan and China are noticeably beginning to close the net on (available tax friendly) current world copper mines and supplies.And as previously mentioned the supply pipeline to replace ageing mines is pretty much non existent,due to years of under investment in exploration, I wonder where that will leave us ?
