Doc,
I like a balanced argument, so in the spirit of factual correctness it should be acknowledged by all here that it was our current CEO, Richard J Marsden, that negotiated the 2014 AstraZeneca deal worth US$7.25mln as an upfront payment. On top of that, he negotiated a further development and commercial milestones totalling US$225mln, and up to mid-teen royalties payable on sales to boot. Not bad for a guy who you would have us believe barely understands the science or is somehow commercially inept?
If that is not a proven track record then I do not know what is. Jazz hands marketing guff (a la Ram, CEO of Relief Therapies with his thoroughly underwhelming headline 35% data readback headline in case anyone missed it ) means nothing when the product can't reach commercial viability. Richard Mardsden knows this and that's his style - substance over guff. I have faith that if he is delivered solid enough data to commercialise SNG001, he will. Everything rests in the data.
Nothing is certain. We could fail. Equally, we could succeed. But I have full faith in our CEO. As in investor, the the 2014 AZ deal delivered to shareholders proves his worth to me.
