People do need to remain vigilant. I only discovered a few days ago that a lot of the walk-in centres in my county (not far from London) have started to shut own, quietly it seems. A few remain where I am but not the same number as a few weeks ago. I had to do PCR test as I took the train into London a week ago and lo-and-behold, despite sitting in a near empty carriage, someone within Covid parked themselves within 2 metres of me for at least 15 mins alerted the NHS app on my phone. I assume they were asymptomatic and not aware they were shedding the virus. I'm in contact with someone vulnerable and I cant put them at risk. Despite a negative LFT which I don't trust anyway, I opted to do a quick PCR test. I am gobsmacked to see that they are quietly phasing these PCR test centres out .... it just goes to show where the government's focus when numbers are ramping up massively everywhere. Stay safe all, it's not over.

Meelie, that was also my understanding too. It was not a 'we're doing it'. It was a 'we're open to doing it if asked'. It's been a narrative for a while but one that is incorrect IMO.

Becontrarian, IMO, there's no chance the USA are investing the time, effort and tax dollars *just* for Covid. My guess is they are as keen on a 'stockpilable' antiviral now as they were circa 2012 when Sars MERs hit their shores.

They don't need to raise funds. Enough cash in the bank until 2022 outside of P3, isn't that what RM said at interims? There's no cap and begging bowl scenario here. Assuming P3 delivers a drug to the current market (in grave need), there absolutely will be more than one interested party. Polygon's sudden lurch forward indicates that may be in play. I'd love to see multiple licence agreements in place with Synairgen getting a fat wadd of $$$ to take other treatments forward in the future. They are not the company they were 5 years ago and the market is chomping at the bit for more drugs to fill hungry pipelines.

It's highly unlikely that those 4 represent one interested party. A corporate would not split a transaction across 4 entities - it introduces too much risk (leaks). The fewer parties you deal with, the less risk. Risk management is sacred.
So why are there 4 nominees listed? Matterhorn gave one possible reason, are there potentially others?

I'd expect Polygon to show their hands prior to P3, not after. Something's got them moving IMO.

I expect people are digesting and working out the possible implications, as we should all be.

By the grace of God Brysoa, growing up in the 70's I remember many discussions around Thalidomide. I take it you were a Doctor? You must feel very at home here on this BB. My dad was a GP for 50 years, he would loved following the science behind these new vaccines and treatments. Glad in a way though that he was spared this Pandemic.

We "will obviously be in a tremendous position when the two P3 trials come in." - I do hope so. I would like to see a more flexible deal brokered if we are successful, where the company is well-funded but maintains control to conduct standalone, which they clearly want to do. Personally, I am less keen on the alternatives for an innovative company like Synairgen.
