Slappy, fair enough if you're new at this then I'll give you a proper rundown of current affairs to help catch you up and answer some of your questions I've seen you post;
VAST’s Diamond Parcel — A Quick Breakdown for Newcomers
There’s been some confusion about Vast’s 136,000 carats of diamonds currently in Dubai awaiting auction. To be clear, that’s carats, not individual stones. Many stones will weigh fractions of a carat, but others are “specials” — high-value stones over 10.8 carats, including some 11–40 carats as per the CEO, Andrews recent interview.
Here’s what we know, and what it could mean:
What Do They Have?
Total parcel: ~136,000 carats
So far identified as gem quality: 36,000 carats (but "so far" is the key wording — this will likely rise)
~6,000 carats in a separate batch include many specials (11–40 carats), sorted out for auction
CEO has stated these will be auctioned in batches to maximise value
Diamonds have been boiled/cleaned, sorted and evaluated in Dubai
Potential Valuations (Just for the Gem Quality Diamonds)
Gem-quality rough diamonds typically sell anywhere between $100 to $500+/ct depending on clarity, colour, and size. Specials can sell for far, far more.
Conservative Estimate:
Mid Estimate:
36,000 carats x $200/ct = $7.2 million
Optimistic Estimate:
36,000 carats x $300/ct = $10.8 million
If we’re bullish (say $400/ct), especially based on the fact they are boiled / cleaned (drastically reducing risk for gem buyers) it’s $14.4 million — and this is just for the 36k gem-quality stones identified so far
What if More Are Gem Quality?
The RNS said “so far”, implying the 36k is a partial figure. Let's play out the scenario if they reach 50,000 carats of gem-quality:
50,000 carats x $200/ct = $10 million
50,000 carats x $300/ct = $15 million, $400 = $20 million
The Rest: Industrial Diamonds
The remaining ~86,000–100,000 carats (depending on final gem tally) are likely industrial quality. These are lower value, often $10–$30 per carat.
At $15/ct x 90,000 carats = $1.35 million
Even these bring meaningful income and are often sold in bulk.
Specials – The X-Factor
Vast confirmed a “good number of specials” in the 6,000ct parcel — stones over 10.8 carats. These can skew auction results massively:
Even one 30+ carat rough diamond, depending on clarity and colour, can sell for hundreds of thousands

Specials can attract premium buyers, luxury brands, and media coverage
