It's directly from within the company, and these are the only comments because it should be public and it's seriously wrong the offer wasn't considered more thoroughly, let alone that no announcement was made to inform shareholders. They should be forced to do so now hopefully.

It's not clear whether they've made any announcement at all in fact which just blows my mind. Is there some kind of future stock incentive that the CEO or other executives would miss out on if it was taken private or something? I hope there's some PR soon about it

Offers were made this June and July at a ~40% premium when it was trading at approximately the same price it's at now. I would have thought it would still be in the interest of the shareholders to know there's bids being made that high right now even if it wasn't recommended but they have kept it pretty quiet for some reason. I saw an insider trade happening almost at the exact same time such as Jane Bentall on July 3rd, but my eyebrow is a bit more raised at the huge amount the CEO has been buying this year beforehand who then declined to recommend the offer.

It looks like they were offered 900p by a US firm but didn't recommend it after they concluded they are worth much more than that. Does anyone know why they'd keep shareholders in the dark about this?
