Or more likely the £5 Billion will be given to Openreach, as they're clearly in the best position to rollout FTTP fastest and cheapest. The DMCS have been really slow in deciding how to allocate the cash, probably trying to think of creative ways to distribute to Openreach competitors, when the easiest way to achieve their goal is to allocate the lot to Openreach.
I'd be really surprised to see VM and Sky merge, Sky have already committed to using Openreach for their FTTP offering. BT and Sky would be more likely to merge than Sky and VM.

You obviously know more about him than I do, I can only go off what I see in interviews and written in articles. There are a few fan boys, but the majority of comments suggest he isn't well liked, and in many comments thoroughly disliked. It'll be interesting to see the state of the Airline industry in a couple of years, it isn't written in stone that RYA will do well coming out of this pandemic. When a sector takes a hammering, like Travel/Airlines are currently, it's usually the new players that emerge from the shadows that do well.

Lets be honest, the only people who like O'Leary can probably be counted on one hand. I seem to remember posting on IAG during Covid, just not in the last 30 days. I see you joined just to rebuke my arguments about the Airline sector, which will suffer greatly over the next 12 months, bringing into question the recent positivity in the sector, especially Ryanair. I have to say, I'm amazed RYA's share price is where it is, with the near and medium term negative outlook for the sector in general. The way things are going, load factors will be down for the next year at least with no guarantee they'll recover for years to come. Whatever I think of individuals personally, has no bearing on my view around travel/Airline stocks generally. I did say in a recent post that Ryanair looks the safer investment in the sector, but you obviously didn't read that post.
The positivity reflected in RYA's share price is misguided in my opinion. The Bull case is that RYA will ride in and take all the vacated slots, lost by bankrupt Airlines and Airlines downsizing, which may or may not happen. As talked about recently, new money could come in and take over the failed Airlines, with the current shareholders being the only losers. Under that scenario Ryanair's plans would fall flat.

You're correct, just read this bit:

I suspect the UK wont go as far as Spain, but if the EU fall behind the UK on Vaccinations then stricter rules should apply for UK entry, ie a PCR test. Since the UK is classed as a Risk country then a PCR test is required for Spain. Why didn't O'Leary mention the EU in his rant then? Surely people would be put off travelling anyway, in view of the EU's testing requirements?

As I've posted a few times, I don't own any Airline shares, but I have become interested in the sector due to the virus.
I suspect the Government will take a pragmatic view and mirror the tests required by UK residents leaving the UK. Spain requires a negative PCR, TMA or LAMP test for entry, it's likely the UK will mirror that. The point is, its not just the UK that's implementing this. The UK are only mirroring what the EU has already implemented, so O'Leary shouldn't just vent his frustration at the UK and ROI Governments., he should be more balanced in his rhetoric. The way vaccinations are progressing, the UK will be months ahead in completing its vaccination program, it's only right that the UK should protect itself by insisting that incoming travellers provide a negative Covid test.

H-hi Obviously your post is tongue in cheek, but taking a sensible view both Bitcoin and Tesla resemble "super fertiliser" bombs with a hyped up steroid abuser holding the triggers. Tesla is so obviously overvalued, it's beyond defying gravity. Bitcoin resembles something running on the Holodeck of the star ship Enterprise, WHICH WILL JUST CEASE TO EXIST WHEN THE PROGRAM'S STOPPED.

I described him as just plain wrong as a figure of speech. He's wrong because he isn't an expert on the virus and should keep his mouth shut in the public domain. I don't think he helps Ryanair with his media outbursts, and may even make things worse. It doesn't matter what he says anyway, because it wont change the date when testing requirements are lifted.
As far as your question about the new rule kicking in, it's next week.

I wouldn't even buy bitcoin if it was $100, because I don't see it as having any intrinsic value. In my personal opinion, It's like polishing a Tur d and saying its worth as much as a 3 carat diamond. Central Banks could make bitcoin worthless overnight, just by banning payments using cryptocurrency. As things stand the central bank risk isn't an immediate threat, but that could change quickly.

The MAC address isn't used directly by protocols such as IPV4, or IPV6, or DHCP, etc, etc. Every packet that leaves the Wifi adaptor on your laptop uses the MAC address to embed higher level protocols within the L2 packets. The Wifi router in your home, receives L2 packets referenced to the MAC address of your WiFi adaptor and keeps an ARP table, that it uses to track the packets from your individual Wifi adaptor. Once the packets hit your Wifi router, the Wifi adaptor L2 MAC address information is stripped away and the L3 packets forwarded onto the web using the MAC address of your Wifi Router interface, facing your internet provider. The MAC address of the WiFi adaptor in your Laptop/PC doesn't even go as far as your internet provider.

Just to add, if you're on a company site, MAC addresses can be used to ensure computers only access certain interfaces or VLAN's. My previous post only referred to remote access over the WEB.

MAC address stands for Media Access Control address,

A MAC address is a physical address and is only used at Layer 2 level. As the packets traverse the network the MAC address is only referenced in the ARP table of the first Router (Level3) interface that the packets hit. Once you hit the first router interface, the IP address is the only information forwarded to identify the originating user. Banks, etc use different forms of identification to authenticate user access. Companies user fobs like securid, or authentication software like cisco connect for applying authentication and VPN access. MAC addresses aren't used for remote access over public networks as they can be easily spoofed, and as mentioned previously don't traverse the whole network.

It's Fleccy not Fleecy. I didn't mean that Ryanair was a better Airline, I meant a safer investment in the current environment. I did also state that I see all Airlines as un-investable.

Just to add to my last post, I'm not invested in any Airline, as I currently see the whole sector as un-investible. Ryanair interests me due to the publicity it generates and O Leary's rhetoric which everyone loves to hate. I enjoy his unjustified rants every time he throws his toys out of the pram, so he is entertaining. I agree that RYA is better than IAG and EZJ, but I still don't understand the hype and can see scenario's where RYA falls flat.
