Because the price halves for Fleccy2, his portfolio eventually overtakes Fleccy1 where the price remained the same. I expect a mining pool would have to be treated differently, since the pool provider would be distributing different ranges of Nonce's to different pool members. Would the pool provider send the Block to QBT, with QBT returning Nonce ranges to the pool provider to then distribute between the members? Or would each pool member have a QBT client installed and talk directly to QBT's server? As I said it's quite vague, from what QBT have said it seems they're targeting individual rigs on a one to one basis rather than dealing directly with pools who distribute the workload between all members. There are lots of unknowns, like QBT's ability to deal with current network hashrate's and difficulty, therefore until QBT's software is benchmarked on clients using the live network, it's pure speculation to guess the Method B performance.

Addison, you should ask QBT how their SaaS works. Normally SaaS involves accessing an application via the cloud and carrying out the work using the software on the providers server, with each customer segregated from each other.

The brute force is carried out on the mining rigs, so does the QBT server accept constructed Block's from the Miner's, and then supply precomputed ranges of Nonces back to the client's installed on the rig's? Potentially each individual Miner would construct a different block; With pool Miners all working on the same Block, but the work distributed between members to prevent duplication processing Nonce's. Because the SaaS works on a Client/Server model, with a client running on each rig, QBT's server would theoretically need to continually deal with tens of thousands of requests from individual Mining Rigs. It'd be nice to see a detailed operating model/diagram, showing how their SaaS model will work, as it's all very vague at the moment.

I've seen nothing from QBT to convince me that their software will work as described on the live BTC network; I can't say it wont perform as QBT suggest, it's just I'm sceptical that it will.

Just to add they'd need to set up their servers before any deals are done, since no one will pay for a service that isn't available. They'd also need a sweetener to attract customers, like an initial evaluation period to allow miners to asses whether the software does what it says on the tin. If the software does or doesn't perform, it wont take long to come out because the sector participants are extremely vocal and they'll likely put out YouTube reviews in short order. Once the independent reviews come out, it will either make or break QBT.

You'd think QBT would know the basic design of their Network, with server performance/capacity and connectivity requirements to provide enough slack and redundancy to ensure a good quality of service for their customers. I would guess they'd need fast server's with fast connections.

They'll likely use a Hosting provider to supply dedicated servers, with QBT taking over full management once the server's connected.

Jambone I didn't make anything up, I based the comments on available information. As far as Lloyds is concerned I'm seriously looking at topping up there; I was looking at BT but it's surprised to the upside following the recent results.

This talk of a takeover is interesting, I'd be interested to know what a buyer would be taking over?

How many employee's do QBT have? According to Google Finance it only has 4, there's possibly 5 with the new guy.

What IP does QBT have? The patent was rejected.

What liquid assets do QBT have, compared to the debt?

At the moment they have a possible product that still needs to be proved on the live BTC network; And as far as I can make out the teams aren't salaried, they're working for share options based on the eventual share price meeting a pre-agreed level. If there was a takeover, the share options would be bought out so where would that leave the entity taking over QBT, considering they'd potentially have no technical backup since the teams are unlikely to be contracted employee's. They'd be taking over all the debt and possibly few tradeable assets to offset the debt and ongoing litigation with an uncertain outcome and no full time employee's.

Adding all that up, I reckon the chance of a takeover is low to zero.

You should rephrase that, it's clearly incorrect on several counts. For a start QBT isn't a miner, with the 160% probability increase due to method B theoretical and unlikely to be replicated outside of the lab; And I believe the 2.6 times increase in probability is based on the software being installed on the mining rig, rather than using SaaS, although I'm not sure on that.

The bottom line is that the Method B improvement may not transfer to the real world live Bitcoin network, time will tell on that, personally I very much doubt it.

About the legal protection thing, the CWU employ a legal team who you could call on for advice and provide you with representation at tribunals, if you're ever made redundant or dismissed. I thought of it as an insurance policy and many of my work colleagues were also members for the same reason, and it actually paid of for some who won tribunals after redundancy. We didn't have collective bargaining, unlike BT, so there wouldn't have ever been calls for strikes or Union representation for pay negotiations, which probably wouldn't have made much difference since we were earning more than BT Engineers anyway, but we also worked on a far more extensive range of equipment/technologies than BT Engineers, whose Job roles were more focused.

Why would I stay in the Union once I've retired? It isn't as though I can be made redundant from retirement.
