She's the CEO of a company, not a football manager. She's not responsible for the current VOD share price performance, it's about the narrative directed toward Telecom's in general. I take the view that Telecom's are a critical utility that's become a modern day essential service. I believe Telecoms have been targeted by market forces looking at picking up infrastructure on the cheap. As time's passed I've become ever more convinced that the game's rigged, but the market will eventually have to price established infrastructure stocks on fundamentals rather than manufactured negative sentiment.

RR is a good example of market gaming in my opinion, it's up 178% over the last year and up over 770% from it's 2020 lows; Over 5 years its showing as down 2% on the price paid per share, but that doesn't take account of the fact RR only had 1.895 Billion shares in issue then, but now has 8.416 Billion shares in issue, so there are 4.44 more shares in issue now than there was back then. The Jan 18 2019 price was around 307p per share, giving a market cap of around £5.8 Billion, the current RR market cap is over £25 Billion with a P/E ratio over 16, according to Google. I have nothing against RR, I think it's a good UK company, but I believe it's a good example of how the big market players game stock prices.

Fat how can the regulator stop BT making profits, if those profits are due to BT running an efficient business? There's only so much the regulator can legally do and I'd say they've more or less done as much as they can. In Telecoms it's all about scale and BT have that incumbent scale, so their operating costs will always be less than others. What I can see happening is BT eventually offloading around 50% of Openreach, once the pension is sorted, but the IPO cash will benefit BT shareholders.

Hi Rob, it was the price I was offered when I moved over from Plusnet, due to them closing down their Mobile business. Even though Plusnet is owned by BT I still had to set up a new contract and transfer my number using a PAC code.

It isn't a fine, £1 Billion is the top end estimated compensation total attributed to Lloyds. As far as paying compensation, it should be really easy as long as records still exist. Usually this sort of claim is time barred to 6 years, but claimants could say they've only just found out about this, raising the possibility that pre 2015 claimants might be able to win their claim if records still exist. Banks apparently only keep records for 7 years and Brokers are only required to carry records for 6 years, as the statute of limitations is 6 years, so for someone to be able to claim further back I suspect the burden of proof will fall on the individual making the claim. I don't use things like HP and PCP, but I'd probably have scrapped any paperwork once the car was gone or the loan paid off, so any claimants who paid off their loan pre 2015 will probably have to supply their paperwork.

BT isn't a Revenue Growth stock, it's a cost cutting play with growth to the bottom line Net Profit once the current Capex cycle ends and cost savings kick in.

I've had a few conversations about Telecom price rises, while out and about, and it doesn't appear on the average persons radar. The Press and every media outlet seem to be making a big thing out of Telecom mid contract price rises, but very few people seem bothered. When I've spoken to people they complain about their Gas and Electricity bills, but hardly a peep about their Telecom bills. Lets be honest, the reason people don't care too much is because Telecoms are pretty cheap in this country; My sim only mobile contract bill comes to around £7 a month and my Broadband bill is around £25 a month, and we also have Sky TV because my wife likes the service. Disregarding the Sky TV subscription, one sim only contract and the Broadband price combined comes to around £32 a month, next to my Gas and Electricity Bill our Telecom bill is insignificant and hardly worth bothering about.

We are quite heavy data users, regularly streaming content via Sky Go, Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube, so the Broadband is an essential service for our entertainment as well as more serious uses like finding information and online banking, etc.

No, I explained at the time why I decided to go with VOD. It's a pointless exercise wishing you'd done this, or waited for that, in the end you make a decision based on your opinion at that moment in time. As far as future top ups I'll apply the same logic, but it's currently between Lloyds and BT for Feb top-ups should I decide to reinvest dividends at that point.

Just to underline what I'm talking about, Facebook Marketplace is apparently full of fake offers costing UK consumers dearly, as well as the Banks who are required to cover many of the losses.

I'm not a believer in Crypto, but I am interested and enjoy watching the hype Video's on YouTube; The other day I watching various YouTube video's and was bombarded with the same deep fake Michael Saylor advert which was clearly a scam, although many will no doubt be taken in by it. Where are the regulators when it comes to US tech helping bad actors to scam people? Even the Microsoft Activision takeover being passed was likely more about political pressure, than changes made to the deal, in my opinion; Bobby Kotick was super critical of the CMA when the deal was first rejected, the way he wound his neck in later was something to watch. It seems US tech operate to a different set of rules to our home companies, it appears that big US tech are immune to the UK regulators.

Cardinal, I'm disillusioned with all the politicians in the main parties. In the next election, I'll either not vote or vote for the Reform party. I have no doubt Labour will win the next election, but the Conservatives have been a disaster for UK stocks and I don't see how Labour can be any worse. Conservatives might be the party for business, but it strikes me they're more for supporting foreign companies and punishing UK companies. At least Labour are more likely to be protectionist toward UK companies, unlike the Conservatives who've overseen the Everything Must Go Bargain Basement Sale of undervalued UK assets, I never thought Id hear myself say this, but I can't wait for the Conservatives to go.

You'd have to ask the likes of Larry Fink, I have no idea why Lloyds and various other stocks are undervalued. My guess is that the herd are throwing everything into get rich quick speculative growth stocks, driven by artificially low interest rates; It'll probably take some sort of event to shake off this current herd mentality and drive investment back into value/defensive stocks, I'll just watch and wait.

Nucky most on here weren't invested in Lloyds 15 years ago. All I'm interested in is the 2015 prices, pre Brexit. Lloyds is easily worth between 70 and 90p, that's where my target price lies. Lloyds was pushing toward 90p in May 2015, I can't see any reason why that isn't achievable in the future.

Apparently this doesn't apply to Personal Contract Hire, so I'm not sure how Lex Autolease would be affected, very little I expect. I also doubt Tusker will be affected because of the nature of the business, describing themselves as a Vehicle management and Leasing Company. My guess is that the biggest exposure is through Car supermarket partnerships, where the dealer brokers might offset a portion of the commission against the selling price of the vehicle, there are a few big ones. I have no idea if the Banks offering Finance through these big players might have some comeback, in the form of clawback, if the dealerships mis-sold the Finance.

I've already filtered the new Mandy, only because his posts add nothing to the debate and are boring to read, it's like watching the same episode of a dull soap over and over and over again. It's all just CWU and takeover talk, yawn.
