BEIS tracking H2 projects - ITM Gigastack gets a shout out.

I love Ripple Energy and the idea. My only criticism/worry is that investing in a single turbine leads to concentration risk, with a major failure taking out the supply (compared to one turbine in a 30-100 turbine wind farm).
Graham making some very good points in this article.

Two main points for me:
1. Blue hydrogen requires CCS which is a decade away from commerciality at least, by which time green H2 should be cheaper.
2. The upcoming bid rounds for offshore wind are going to add about 20GW to the pipeline (including ScotWind) - we'll need to manage the intermittency, both short-term and seasonal. H2 is the obvious solution - especially if produced when power prices go towards negative.
I sold half my holding yesterday at £7. Time will tell, but it is very hard to justify the SP with the current fundamentals. Perhaps they will catch up with the hype, but it is too risky (scary?) for me! Happy to be proven wrong as I've still got skin in the game.

Green hydrogen: ITM Power’s new gigafactory will cut costs of electrolysers by almost 40%
Leading electrolyser manufacturer has already raised enough cash to build a second factory of up to 2GW, chief executive Graham Cooley tells Leigh Collins
The UK will have several million tonnes of steel installed offshore in the coming decades, in offshore wind foundations, towers etc. Combining this with some investment in manufacturing in the UK and we could see some jobs created. Just the small hurdles of actually getting the developers to buy from the UK rather than cheaper overseas...
Hilarious! For those not in the know, replace the **** with a four-letter word starting with s.

I think that article in the times will be referring to this consultation: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/937635/changes-supply-chain-plans-cfd-contract-condoc.pdf
Oil and gas companies often specialise in projects rather than manufacturing. I can see an energy major investing in hydrogen production projects, but not in the equipment side of the sector. They do not have a niche there.
The niche for O&G is integrating project delivery and the downstream parts of the business.
