The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Ffs Sageman - where have I said that SOLO aren’t selling?? I’ve done my research. I get it. I’ve said as much. The point is that the selling isn’t to blame for the SP stagnation, it’s the lack of buying pressure to clear the overhang and whilst SOLO may be the cause of the overhang the lack of buying pressure is noeither their fault nor problem. We clear now?
Sorry Sageman ....maybe you have me mixed up with someone else? I have said that SOLO are a forced seller (as they want to invest elsewhere) but they’re not to blame for there being no market meaning the time to sell their overhang has been prolonged. YA for instance were quite capable of clearing their book quickly when there was an appetite to buy. I couldn’t speculate on how many SOLO still have now that they’re under the TR1 percentage.
StarBright ....I don’t agree with your synopsis either that SOLO know something heinous that we don’t so are selling up quickly. Look at the recent publicity from ALBA saying totally different. Like others have said, they just want their cash out to use elsewhere and are likely caught by bad timing. I wonder what their shareholders would want? A piece of a dream, cashing in that dream for some hard cash or more dilution to find their other projects.
I agree Ocelot / you’ve put it more succinctly than I have, the buying pressure simply isn’t there. Should we announce sustained 1K BOPD+ from KL3/4 then that would generate heightened buying. Until we get more news or SOLO get whittled away we are where we are. But .....it’s not because of SOLO, it’s because there’s no aggressive market for the shares they want to cash in. I’m just fed up hearing people bad mouth SOLO (who I’m not invested in by the way) when they’re as much a victim of the current news/progress situation as us private punters.
I’m sorry ...I don’t fully subscribe to SOLO selling as the reason for stagnation. We’ve seen days in the past where we’ve seen several hundred million shares traded. The issue surely is that people who are aware of UKOG and have already taken their positions awaiting news or that there just isn’t a buyer out there for much volume at this SP? Nothing but solid news around Kimmerage and a roadmap to production will see us move. SOLO aren’t the criminally here, they just want to cash in. It’s not up to them to generate interest and stimulate a market.
Well done but I suspect little will happen. They will say that acidisation is fracking as per the comment below. Even if they do retract it’ll be hidden off somewhere nondescript. However, not everyone is anti-fracking and there are people out there who may see the article for what it is, press about a company potentially on the cusp, and invest. I doubt it’ll do any significant damage once KL3/4 news comes out. FWIW - I bought more this morning.
Brainer ..... can I have some of what you’re on when you’ve finished it? 53% production increase but a target of 1K BOPD that has been an abject failure for 4-5 years kicked down the road for another year? A short term target of 150% SP increase based on what exactly? The continual hitting of targets and the low debt position? 🙄
