I'm curious to know what rights Falcon may have given up re. sale of their share of the JV. Most importantly, is Falcon free to sell their 22% interest to any interested buyers or could Origin block such a sale? If so, is it simply that Origin has a right of first refusal or could they block it entirely? Also, if such a buyer made an offer for Falcon's share, could Origin impose all kinds of conditions on the new owner to discourage the sale? Any thoughts anyone?
I understand that the price of this stock doesn't follow any reasonable logic, and even considering
its current stage of development, it amazes me that the market values our 30% at about $80/acre!?? Makes no sense! I wish I could buy me a few thousand acres of their Beetaloo acreage!
It looks as if they’re saying the unrisked value of Beetaloo asset is roughly $2.8B (Aussie $). Is this based on their proving up the 6.6 tcf contingent resource of Verkerri B? If not, what “asset “ are they referring to? Certainly if reserves are anywhere near geologist’s possible estimates, $2.8B is orders of magnitude too low. Any comments?
Will this cattleman’s lawsuit delay the drilling of the first well in the kyalla formation?
Someone mentioned that the site for this well is outside the plaintiff’s property? Also if one of the Pepper reports recommendations called for a specific agreement between industry and pastoralists, how could Origin have completely dropped the ball on this? Hard to imagine they didn’t make sure everything was covered properly. What are the chances that no drilling happens this year? Appreciate any thoughts
WW- I am highly optimistic about Falcon’s future as it seems as if everythings coming together. But in light of sweetpea’s bankruptcy, it seems it would be more favorable for a major to acquire their million + acres for pennies on the dollar rather than buy out Falcons 30%. Also, does the fact that there are millions and millions of acres of exploitable land in the beetaloo significantly lessen the value of our 30%? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I’m wondering if anyone has any insights or speculations regarding the terms of the Sasol buyout. It seems that no hints are available from Origin’s financial disclosures. Perhaps We****er might have some ideas on how such a deal might have been structured. Much thanks for any ideas
I’ll take a shot. Looks like Mitsui paid about $480m to get about 300 bcf of reserves. Assuming Falcon has 2.2tcf if reserves, that would equate to roughly $3.5b or $3.50 a share. Lots of assumptions but rather fun to figure a possibility should drilling resume and an interested party comes along!
