I guess it all depends how many trades you do in a month plus if they got a good reliable service aswell. Other factors include an app for your smartphone/tablet. Charts and so on. But if you just buy a few shares a year spread does not really matter.

Mind you you can set a buy limit and a stop limit.

I think they must make the money on the spread. Got similar price quotes in the past buying Lloyds from my other platforms.
