Nothing murky at all. I suggest you read the IPO documents regards MBU selling any shares after October. They have to be done through OPTIVA Securities the joint broker to effect an orderly market, so in other words they find a buyer first and sell them on to them. It wouldn’t be anything like the JStorey shiiteshow.

Agree Fleccy but those currently doing the build and those associated with it will be eased out. SPs like SKY are currently retraining their engineers to do the internal fibre and in a few years there will be a huge amount of ex engineers from altnets available too probably as contractors or direct labour and on cheaper contracts too.

That Trooli I posted about were advertising for external overhead Hoist qualified installers and on £24-£28 k that’s dirt cheap.

Fleccy, I’m not sure engineers will be that bothered about their stats any longer as most of them are pretty much out of a job in 3-4 years anyway.

AP an overtime ban is the last thing to do. As is another strike imo. All taking money out of the pockets of the workers is crazy atm.

A work to rule creating a huge job stack and unlimited overtime will cost the company money as they have to pay circa 50% more just to clear the BAU work I’d have thought and jobs failing will affect the performance levels with OFCOM and BT could face fines if they don’t hit minimum service levels.

The union got this the wrong way round. What next a 3 day strike? What if that doesn’t work? A 5 day one? That’s the engineer £1500 wage increase gone in 10 days.

My mates daughter joined OR in 2019 and was promised within 12 months she would be trained in the underground cabling and 3 years later she still hasn’t. With the training came a £3500 uplift in her salary she voted to strike. So it’s not a case of you knew what you were getting, it’s a case that she and thousands more haven’t had the training and uplift so are rightfully angry.

I don’t think it’s in their interest to get involved in pricing and could be anti competitive and possibly illegal.

Well they do part own the network I believe and they also own the pension fund if it goes belly up so there’s a bit to think about.

Also project equinox has tied in BT wholesale customers for 10 years at todays prices other than inflation. That gives BT the opportunity to recoup their outlay for the whole FTTP build.

So in 10 years the build will have been funded by CPs and not BT essentially. Who has funded VM fibre build? Hedge funds? Banks? Ooh yeah they’ll want their money back from Virgin so I can see why they are desperate to wholesale. Problem is in 10 years BT can wholesale at a cost far cheaper than VM could and they have already said they will under cut any wholesale deals by other operators.

That’s the long game played out again. I suggest you get onto John Malone quick and ask how are they going to compete with BT wholesale lol

It’s pure fantasy that SKY will become dependent on their biggest competitor. As fleccy has previously mentioned there’s more chance of SKY and BT merging.

I’d love Virgin to wholesale and have their hands tied like OR do. OR Having access to VM physical access networks will save them billions in areas that are not currently ducted.

BT always play the long game . Remember LLU? Now consigned to history as BT waited for all the CPs to spend billions getting their kit in the exchange and then BT introduction of FTTC and now FTTP.

My mate is a manager for O2 his house previously had Virgin but he’s with SKY. I asked why he wasn’t with VM and he said you don’t get the speeds they promised and the routers are atrocious for Wi-Fi… maybe they need to sort out their own retail service first lol..

Watched GMB on Friday and no mention of it on there. Speaking to my OR mate he said managers were told not to swap days around. Apparently there were engineers rostered off on Friday and tomorrow who wanted to swap there day off with the strike days so they could actually strike. Unreal I know lol.

Sky have already done a deal with an incumbent lol you must’ve missed it. They are using OR FTTP and training their satellite engineers to install the fibre in the premises and OR do the outside bit.

Sky are not going to use VM02. They are their main competitor ffs lol and TT flirted with City Fibre but sold their fibre network and are now committed to Equinox and a small stake in an altnet Freedom Fibre so not sure why they’d go to virgin either wholesale when they also are TV competition.

Yes the co-provide with SKY will enable SKY engineers to do the internal work and OR the external work so getting installations in quickly from an OR point of view.

I have heard that BT and TT are considering a similar plan utilising a company called cube for the internal.

There’s not a chance in hell that SKY wholesale off Virgin. They’d be funding their biggest competitor lol..
