I forgot the name of the Ecuadorian who was encouraging the locals to vote against mining and which resulted in a referendum. It turned out that the same guy who was against majors mining in Ecuador was himself carrying out illegal mining. He was arrested if I recall. I am sure one of the other posters will recall when we faced the mining referendum and the name of the main guy who turned out to be an illegal miner. So, what I am posting is not far fetched.

Plus, there are artisanal miners in most poor countries and I am sure they also exist in Ecuador.

We messed around for so long selling the company, now we are faced with a jurisdictional deterioration which only increase the jurisdictional risks, which all know deters Western majors. Only the Chinese are not easily deterred.

I think we better hope that the cartels don't get around to thinking that it might be more profitable mining gold at cascabel than taking the risk of smuggling coke to the USA and Europe. Totally agree 1984. The price in the ground for gold is substantially higher than that for copper if what I am seeing online is accurate. The Chinese are on a mission to acquire all the gold available. Let's hope it gets done this year.

Agreed Add, I was perplexed to read that he wanted a sale given his previous objective for us to become a producer. Something definitely caused him to have changed direction so suddenly. That said, we as shareholders need to be extremely vigilant so that we are not sold down the river by self loans which are designed to fail and thereby transfer the assets to the lender at our expense.

Incidentally, totally agree with you Add re the machinations at DGR. I am thinking that NM must expect a payday soon for him to have made such a move. I would think that his relationship with Choice should be examined by DGR shareholders. When it comes to money, trust is a rare commodity.

However, given that NM now has all of his hopes and dreams tied up with solg, one got to figure that he needs it to come good so that he can walk away with all of DGR's former assets. I think we at solg only need to start worrying when we borrow money from NM instead of a raise or selling the Cornerstone shares. Hence, NM needs a monetization event here. I don't think the Chinese will mind dealing with NM. One thing for sure, Warren isn't happy watching his heavily involved position getting hammered to become an actively interested position.

I am always weary when a person starts loaning money to themselves. Not a good sign. GR of PREM did that. The end result is that that person doesn't lose because they end up owning the asset when a default occurs, but the shareholders of the company who borrowed the money gets wiped out. Hence, NM is Armour, and NM is DGR. DGR assets gets passed to Armour in case of a default, and the DGR guys gets wiped out. The only winner is NM who gets DGR's assets at the expense of DGR's shareholders. Not good.

Yes Add, he was responding to the question about 2024 opportunities. But I didn't hear him responding evangelically about solg. It was more like new people would enjoy the current low price/value whereas current shareholders are hurting, himself included. If I am not mistaken, the current price is below his entry. I have heard him expressing his regret for not selling all of solg when he took some off the table at 16 to 17p. I still hear that regret in his voice, but happy that new people are being presented with value at current SP. He is a great guy which is why I am one of his biggest fan!

Yes, Warren named Premium Nickel and went on to describe Botswana where the asset is located. I have been following Premium Nickel since he mentioned it last year. If only I could get my dough from Solg so that I can take a punt. According to Warren, it has the potential to be another Voisey's Bay.

Add, nothing perverse about my observation here. The man went from being exuberant with his 1,2,3, at 2.9 steps, to lauding the stock, to reluctance to name the company, from saying heavily involved, to denying that he is heavily involved, to heavily interested! If he was viewing solg on the same level of excitement as Premium Nickel, he would not be denying being heavily involved. His words, not mine. I fail to see it as a positive when a large shareholder arrive at the point where he is denying being heavily involved. You have something you are excited about, you shout it from the roof tops. It's like he is now embarrassed to be associated with solg. Heh, folks can listen to Warren's interview and decide for themselves.

Add, I have lost count of the number of Warren's interviews I have watched/listened to. If he was excited about the current value, he would have been more upbeat about the company and would have named the company. He did not. Compare his comments about Premium Nickel which is one of his current holding in Botswana to how he described his "situation" in solg. He previously said his Premium Nickel average is $1.75 which mean he is currently down, yet he was enthusiastic about the company. I didn't hear the same for solg. But you are right, this is subjective. Not long to the end of Q1.

I can hear the disappointment, disillusionment in Warren's voice such that he didn't want to even name the company! As a follower of Warren, in his previous interviews, he would named solg. Here he didn't and struggled to say anything bullish about the company. 1c in the ground, 1penny in the ground was spat out with utter disgust in my opinion.

We are here for the long haul. Its ironic having Bozi basically saying that we should cut Scott The Rocks Caldwell some slack regarding the current level of the SP!! What is he there for then as a ceo? To keep the chair warm, jet around, have free lunch on us, but God forbid that we should expect him, like any other ceo, to defend the sp. Great leaders make events occur, they are not the victim of events.

Previous management have had their fill at the trough. Heck, 4M is still unaccounted for. Scott The Rocks Caldwell is no different. He too wants his turn at the trough to engorge himself. If his compensation was linked to the SP performance like it should, he would be more determined in his duties.
