Decent IMS today hence healthy rise. Back on an even keel again it seems.
Pretty stellar rather than just solid I'd say. Drop today a bit hard to fathom - hard to claim they were already in the price, but perhaps it's a case of folk selling on news when it didn't immediately shoot up on such good results. However, I suspect it will creep up and they'll regret selling.
Why the rise today? SSE renewables presumably not great news from the budget (carbon price floor held level). But is the sense that the energy measures in the budget take the heat off the sector? Or that it was a good budget more likely to deliver a Tory victory?
mind you don't slip on a banana skin ...
Apparently no Ukraine bonds on Sberbank's balance sheet (contrary to some reports - eg Friday's Telegraph: 'Fresh Tremors Grip Global Markets ...'): http://en.itar-tass.com/economy/720328
some big sells going though? Hopefully will rise again once seller cleared. Can't see anything much changed here. Last holdings RNS had big Invesco support.
Ex div date today hence drop. Divs were raised by 5% in recent results.
Hello folks - dipped a toe in here and may put more in at some stage. Chequemate, I seem to be attracted to similar companies to you!
What do people make of: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/mediatechnologyandtelecoms/media/10596720/Is-Murdoch-poised-to-launch-another-BSkyB-takeover-bid.html - especially the idea that content is king and the day of the distributor (like Sky) is past (or rather that cable and satellite will be surpassed by the internet giants - Google and Apple are mentioned - who can pay more for content like films and football). I'm not sure how that squares with the claim that that's why Libertyglobal have been hoovering up European Cable or why it makes the Sky Europe option more likely - is this to provide scale that can compete against the internet/tech interlopers?
Going up nicely beyond previous range now. Invesco part sell-off cleared?
Production up (and better news out of far east): http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304428004579349980219823514?mg=reno64-wsj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.wsj.com%2Farticle%2FSB10001424052702304428004579349980219823514.html
The simmer is becoming a boil. Is it ready to serve yet? Nice 6.15% rise today.
Market relieved that this is now out of the way, hence 4% rise today?
£120,250 worth on 10 December. Still paying out like clockwork (18 p per annum, paid quarterly) - goes ex Div on 15 Jan. Not sure why this has dropped of late.
http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/64737/investors-warm-to-homeserve-after-ubs-upgrade-64737.html Actually over 9% up in the end.
Tipped in Shares mag and also in Hargreaves Lansdown's 'Stocks in the spotlight' mail-out of this today, which may, hopefully provide some further momentum to 800p level.
Good to see s/p over £3 - always a difficult point to break.
Thought Phil was going to sell it to NRR ...
Ah, the Midas touch - wondered why we had a nice rise today. Well welcome aboard any Midas-inspired joiners. This is no fly-by-night AIM pup and dump share - it's a quality long term holder which should turn into a decent dividend payer in the future too (but for now is a growth share).
