Nothing wrong with his statements?
You don't see anything wrong with attending a broker event and talking up ECO the evening before your lead operator announces to the market that the oil from the two very finds you've been hyping is heavy?
Haha. ..Gil said it! You couldn't make it up!
Harel - have you a link to farm down of 30%? Thanks
Sphunken, what have you got to back up your quote below that they will "definitely" drill in 2020?
"One year with no news won’t happen here... no need to worry about that.. we will drill this year, just won’t be under tlws operation-ship."
Also from COO in response to a question:
There is a potential that Surinam well will be late this year or early next year, that is yet to be optimized. And in terms of further Guyana drilling this year, we really do need to integrate that real world data that we've got from our three wells into our various models. So unlikely that we will be drilling any Guyana wells this year, but we need to let that technical work run it's course before we decide what will be our next well and when would be that next well.
It's unlikely. That's per the COO. That can't be more clearer. As it stands it's unlikely to be drilled. He is a new COO. He is hardly going to mIslead analysts giving the situation Tullow are in.
Tullow have problems on multiple fronts. Ghana and not Guyana is their number one priority. If they definitely wanted to drill this year they would have said it.
I think the general tenor of the conversation was they won't drill, analysing results, selecting targets per the call. I hope you are right but I think you are grasping at straws there. Still, we have Gil's upcoming interview to rally the troops! I'm looking forward to hearing what spin he puts on it. : )
I think it's hard to spin this as positive. It's purely wild speculation to suggest that Total will insist on a drill in Guyana in 2020. Speculating on a gap of a couple of months in a shipping charter is just that too.
Tullow would have been discussing this with Total and Eco about 2020 Guyana drill and so they haven't just done a solo run today.
I was fairly certain Tullow would have gone full tilt at Guyana this year. However, they've stated today they won't. I think it's time to accept it's 2021. Yet again Gil's cheerleading interviews in re ent months look a bit silly. I think it's RNS only from here on in with Gil.
Also, a board and not TOR have ultimate control over the company and they can replace them anytime they wish.
Manyana, I'm amazed you think TOR left of his own volition. He hitched PVR to an absolute mirage of an investor and to make it worse dragged it out for months with embarrassing deadlines. Investors patience must have worn thin and as noted already he said he would consider his position if Apec did not come through.
As for a ceo bringing investment money with them, it's not the norm. They just need a competent CEO. If he were to do nothing for a year he'd still have achieved more and wasted less money than the last CEO
You can't hold Afren against him. Good luck to him. Hopefully he will get things moving on Barryroe
Google linn and third energy. Plenty of articles. I imagine he was keen to get out of that job. Maybe you are right Manyana.
P Gee, the wording could be clearer but are they saying he only worked in Afren during restructure ie after the mess had been created?
It's the viability of Barryroe that will decide the fate of PVR. I'm sure he is a very able executive with none of the baggage of your family being synonymous with PVR for a couple of decades. Good luck to him. I think it's a positive sign. He has restructuring experience which is interesting. Manyana, I don't know if this new found pessimism is a new year resolution but I don't like it one bit! : )
Oil from two discoveries Joe and Jethro found to be heavy with higher sulphur than anticipated.
I think theyou should have thanked PP for service and get new chair person and CEO. I can't think of anything noteworthy he has achieved. What's the point in giving interviews whilst one of the companies you chair has cash for about two months left.
MRD, I'd politely suggest not to buy more shares based on % you have invested and what you have said about being depressed about it. Its still in unknown territory short term. Nobody saw the second drop recently for example. Just sit tight.
Today is a really significant day for certain for long term holders in proving high quality oil in the context of the wider play.
You situation and getting to or near 1.50 breakeven is not as bad as you think. There are many upcoming events that have the potential to seriously rerate the stock.
Take a break from the board for a day or two. Being constantly on it can't be good for you reading derampers. You are going to feel worse or make a stupid trade. Take a break and Good luck for 2020.
Happy Christmas to all and good luck for 2020!
Hopefully we'll see some positive news in the new year!
